Rory McIlroy WD's from the Honda

Rory has just WD'd from the Honda. Nobody knows why yet. He didn't finish the 18th and he's already left the grounds. There is no blimp chase.

This is a kid who, for the most part, has been the best at every stage he's played. This could be his first REAL challenge. It's probably partially clubs, partially motivation, partially between the ears...Doubt is creeping into his head, and he has to battle adversity now....He's had bad stretches before, but nothing under this kind of scrutiny. I don't think he's anywhere near as mentally tough as tiger was when he made the switch. Tiger knew he was the best, and with that mindset, he could hit women's clubs and play well...
Rory obviously has the talent to play any clubs, and he thought that at one point, or he wouldn't have made the switch. His buddy GMAC has been decently successful at switching, maybe they need to have a serious convo about it, or maybe a mental coach is in order.

And I think what Tiger woods has done throughout his career has put the "#1 in the world" ranking in a bigger spotlight than it was pre-Tiger. Add two majors and a big endorcement deal and you hvae a lot of eyeballs looking at you ready to criticize at a moment's notice.

With that sort of mental attitude, he's not going to be #1 for very long.
