how does it play to loft

do u go down a loft from a normal driver for example since i play a 9.5 get an 8.5

I spoke to Cleveland at length about the Hi-Bore XL-

 

I was told to stick with my current loft when going XL & go up 1 loft concerning the Tour XL

 

The XL is a higher launch, lower spin Hi-Bore

 

So you should go 10.5*

I'd be interested to hear the answer to this as well. I have a 9.5 HiBore XL Tour on the way and have been playing an 8.5 Ping for years. I figure with a shaft witih a higher kick point, that this set up should be spot on. My normal trajectory is pretty ideal...perhaps slightly higher than most...but I think that the right shaft will be the key.

My 9.5º XL Tour measures at 9.5º actual. I have a BlueBoard 83s in the XL Tour and it is pretty good on the LM for me. 13.1º launch angle and about 2700 RPM's spin. I haven't hit my 905R on a LM yet, but I imagine it is probably around 14º and 3000-ish. Pretty comparable thus far between the two (played the 905R a good chunk of this past season, so just going by visual on the ballflight there.)

The XL TOur was really straight according to the launch software my clubfitter has. Even with pretty poor mid-winter swings, it really just wanted to go straight.

is your 905 9.5 i have the driver and my sig and just want something that will go strait launch a degree lower with less spin

The rep at Cleveland that I spoke with told me to go down a loft. I told him that I played a 10.5* in the original Hibore and he told me to go with the 9.5*

He answered you in the second post, but it must of not been what you wanted to hear.

 

To hit the ball the same as you do with the 9.5 you have now, you need to go with the 10.5 in the xl tour ...if your going to go with the regular xl you go with the 9.5

 

Also keep in mind, just decreasing the head loft by 1 * will not automatically drop your launch 1 *

Have you hit a Comp before? How would you compare the XL and comp for launch and spin? If you played a 9.5 comp, stick to 9.5 for an XL?

From what i've heard, the XL tour plays true to stated loft, taking into consideration the open clubface.
