I have these shafts in my wedges (stiff) and love it. Great control and feel. I really go after it sometimes and the ball doesn't balloon on me. I'm thinking about trying these in my irons. Currently I have dynlite gold xp's s300 in my irons and can hit my 6i 170-190 depending on tempo.

 

My question, with these shafts could I expect similar results in my irons? Does anyone know what FCM these shafts are at?

Haven't hit the 950 per say but did hit the 970 stiffs in some titleist 735cm's and they held up fine with good trajectory even though you will find that there are claims that they balloon. I have 1050 stiffs in some pro-100's so not an apple to apples comparison. But where I liked the 970's I love the 1050's. They feel great when you step on them, they feel great at 3/4's. They have a predictable boring flight. I'd shaft all my sets with these if it weren't for the $$.

They're substantially softer than those DLXP shafts - more comparable to the older Dynalite Gold - and I'd think that you'd be pretty close to the redline in Stiff. Normally I think of the 950GH Stiff as a shaft for the 155 7i kind of guy, so if you're able to boost your 7i to 175 you might be happier with X or X softstepped. Wonderful shafts, though, and if anything I like them better in longer clubs than in wedges (where I prefer more weight)

maybe the extra weight in the 1050's might be a good option. I have played an X flex shaft before and never really liked the weight. I'll check and see what their X options are. I would definitely soft step the X. Thanks for the input

I have NS PRO 950GH on my irons. Certainly never ballooned on me. Actually the ball has a mid trajectory with them. My custom fitter said you should use the same shaft in your wedge and irons. So you already nailed it.

I play these in my irons in X (7 iron is about 175-180), they do not balloon on me. Very smooth shaft.
