No love for 2013 Callaway X-Forged

I heard great things before people got these irons and then a lot of people bought them, played them, and said they were not that great if not hit dead center and were not that long. They are pretty to look at but I know those pople switched to the X Hot Pro's and said the feeling was almost the same with way better results as well as distance...etc.

I was going to get these when they first came out....I have no problem, and someone said this and I disagree, but tons of people will drop 1k dollars on irons. I have no issue doing it. I will game them though for a few years and do not get caught up in the hype of every years new equipment. I like the Mizuno MP 64 and Mp H4 irons more though and think the H4 irons are just amazing. I payed 700 bucks brand new for them 3-pw and straight from Mizuno through a connection i have and I think a lot of people are not paying full asking prices for irons unless they do not know a soul in the business or straight up order off a website that is just standard everything and pay full price. Or walk into a Dick's or Golf Galaxy or a store like it and pay full price and taxes yet on top of it.

Tons of people play Miura blades...and many JDM irons that cost 5x more then 1k dollars for a set of irons! My 2 Cents on these irons are beautiful, but not as well of performers as expected!

I've been playing the x forged for a couple of months now. Ordered them with the PXi and while they were lookers and a solid performer, just wasn't thrilled with the shaft. Two weeks ago I switched to the Steelfiber 95 s and OMG - what a combo! The best combination of performance (long, straight, perfect flight) I've experienced with a club. Not to mention that I can hit on the range for an hour without my elbow falling off. As for the head, couldn't be better even off sketchy lies. I've tried them all and this set up is a keeper.

I've had these for about 6 rounds now so it might still be the honey moon phase, but that being said I think thee are one of those sets that I really love. They are very forgiving for a one peice forged club. I bent mine 1* strong because of the the distance gain it gives and also these clubs have allot of bounce on them which gives the ability to bend them with no ill effects of the turf interaction. I love the lighter shafts, and the feeling of these clubs is perfect to me. I played the MO64's for a few months, but I thought they were to soft. I much rather the little bit of feed back I get with these sticks. When these irons are hit in the center they are every bit as soft as the 64's.

Cally did their thing this year. I'm left impressed.

Beautiful looking sticks. I would have ordered a set, had I not fallen in love with the X Hot Pros. :air_kiss:

I love my set, they are the best feeling set of forged irons I have ever owned!

I've had virtually a set from all the Bridgestone forged irons series J33CB, J36PC, J38DPC, J40CB and DPC.

TMAG RAC blades, RAC TP MB and a set of T serial supposedly Muira Forged RAC CBs.

These take the cake, better feel, looks and the forgiveness is right up there with the Bridgestone DPC.

+1 for the LPGA ladies. I wonder what would happen if you asked a PGA guy to hit his sticks...

I'm sure there are a few that would say "swing away" (like James Hahn as he could just get another set through eBay with free shipping) but I would venture a guess the vast majority would call security.
I would like to think most would let you. I would think the players that don't give out autographs on practice rounds would be the players to say no, but since they can get a new club with one trip to a van I would think they might let a guy have a couple swings with one of their clubs. Maybe it's a little optimistic, but I would hope that is the case.

How would you guys compare their forgiveness compared to the i20s?
I think it depends on your miss. For me, they're not all that different forgiveness-wise. The thinner sole of the X-Forged works better for my swing, though. My most common miss is high on the face and shots just die with either club in that case. I know the i20's are forgiving, but they aren't fool-proof by any stretch of the imagination. So I guess what I am saying is that the i20 is more forgiving, but not drastically so.

Another factor is the shaft, of course. I was playing Dynamic Gold in my i20's and liked it, but really I am a PX guy at heart.

You are going to find more than a few people disagree with you.

I think they are just as soft as a Mizuno, these are a great feeling irons!

I'm sure there would be more love if the MP 64's never came out as both are good as I would own the X-Forged but after I hit the MP 64 I couldn't resist. The Adams CMB's might have been my 3rd choice. I'm absolutely loving my MP 64's. I think the X-Forged are getting the love just not as much as the MP 64's.

I had a lot of love from them until I ordered them and found a few month waiting list because I am lefty. I understand supply and demand but when your most famous brand player is a lefty, it should take months to punch out a set. I went with another brand.
I never understood why people think Callaway would make more lefty clubs because their top player is a lefty. Phil is one player and he alone doesn't change the makeup of percentages of those golfers who are right handed vs left handed. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be a lefty in golf today, but I see this comment quite frequently and never really understood it. Phil alone doesn't change the supply and demand so Callaway isn't going to make a slew of lefty clubs...it would be a waste of money from an actual business standpoint.

I said I understood supply and demand as about only 5% of the US golfers are lefties. The issue I have is any other club they make can be at my door with a custom order in a few days including x hot pro's and the blades. so why is it so bad with the 2013 forged?
I'm lefty and ordered mine yesterday and they are scheduled to ship on may 6. So about 2 weeks. Maybe you had some bad info. Sorry to see you went with a different iron and since mizuno doesn't even offer lefty 64s then you prob missed out on one of best irons of year.
Thats what they told me at first too. when I cancelled the order it was up to 8 weeks.
