Ap2 712 irons go with pxi 6.0 or KBS C Taper stiff?

After trying the RBT, Callaway X Forged and AP2 712 at a local demo day, I have decided to go with the AP2's. I liked both the pxi 6.0 shafts and the C Tapers, I would just like some feedback from other AP2 owners that have experience with these shafts and why you like one over the other. I have zero on course experience with either of these shafts, but both felt great and both had the ball flight I am looking for.

I have ap2 712 with pxi 6.0 and love the feel of them. My friend has the same ap2 with c taper and they are also great. The c taper launch lower than the pxi, but to me they don't have the feel of the pxi. I don't have spin numbers or anything just a eye test. Pxi is a very sexy shaft though.

I would think those two shafts would play pretty differently. PXi would probably get up and pin a bit more than the C-Tapers. Depends on what trajectory you are looking for.

I demo'd mine with PX and c-tapers and I found the c-tapers were the best out of the two but I stuck with the DG S300 in mine, they were the best overall for me.

The two shafts do play differently like TheBigSmooth thought. It all depends on what your looking for with trajectory, and what fits your swing better. Pxi is a little lighter than c taper. I think pxi 6.0 is 112g and c taper is 120g.

You are correct on the weight difference,that is why I am also contemplating the pxi 6.5 and soft stepping them since they are 117 grams vs 112 on the 6.0 pxi. I tend to hit my irons high that is why I am leaning towards the C Tapers in S flex. I really like the feel of the 6.0 pxi, but I like the 120 gram weight of the KBS. I currently have a set of ill fitting Adams CB3 irons with KBS tour 90 shafts that play like a wet noodle ( worst shaft I have ever hit in an iron by the way). I play to around a 4-5 hcp, a little worse if I among hitting many GIR, better if I am hitting a lot GIR (my short game needs work.......and that is being gentle). My 7 iron is normally my 165-170 club, depending on the club I am hitting. My distance has suffered considerably with the tour 90 shafts and I am now hitting my 7 iron around 160 due to the excessive amount of spin these shafts produce. I am guessing that the 6.5 pxi would bring the flight down a bit vs the 6.0 even SS them 1x. I did feel like the C Tapers in stiff were a bit firmer than the pxi 6.0 I hit in the same club, so I am guessing the 6.5 SS 1x would be similar in feel to the KBS in s flex. Any more thoughts?

I went through this dilemma when I ordered mine. If you like the heavier shaft and want to lower your flight then it sounds like c taper might be more up your alley. I've hit both side by side and both shafts are great. By all means pxi doesn't launch high but it is higher than c taper. I haven't ever tried ss a shaft so I have no idea how it would affect the trajectory.

PXI 6.5 will very likely play softer than C Taper Stiff. PXI's launch quite a bit higher. They really aren't similar as a couple other guys have said. If you liked the ball flight I'd go with the PXI. C-Tapers don't really fit many swings and in my opinion they lack feel, which could show up on anything less than a full swing
