Driver Shafts- Looking for Recommendations - Butt Stiff

I currently have a Titleist 913 D3 with a Diamana 82X D+ at 44.5". I am starting to generate some more speed and am hating the feel of this shaft. I have generally always disliked soft butt sections, which the D+ has a medium butt stiffness to me, versus the old White Board which was way soft in the grip section.

 

I like shafts like C-tapers and PX compared to Modus 3 or Dynamic Gold which are also soft in the butt section.

 

So, any recommendations for driver shafts that are extremely stiff in the butt section? The stiffer the better.

 

I am thinking maybe RIP Alpha, Motore TS 7.2

 

Any other suggestions?

oban devo or kiyoshi black have stiffer butt sections as well.

Motore is more of a mid butt flex. Recommend Kusala Indigo or Matrix 7M3. Stiffer butt sections are known to make shafts feel more boardy which is what you might be looking for. One other option is the Tour AD BB if lowering your flight and spin is a priority. If money is a big factor I'd demo a Proforce V2 with lower torque.

I tend to find shafts that others describe as "boardy" and "harsh" to my liking for some reason. I hate the feeling of the shaft bending hard when I start the downswing, where the shaft just below the grip feels like it is flexed way backwards and the clubhead feels a long way from the ball. I like to feel the shaft stay right there with my hands when I start down, like it doesn't even flex much at all. Does that make sense? I feel like DG X100s are the same way, flexy under the grip, whereas the C-taper is stiffer and stays right with me.

I have had good results with the Myiazaki Kusala Black and PX 8A4. I have never owned a RIP, AD BB, Oban, or Kiyoshi.

Graffoly blue/ new white , phenom nl, Fuji fuel might be in your wheelhouse

Fuel Tour Spec, Speeder 6.2, 7.2 would work. If you are looking for something a little less expensive the Graphite Design G series or Motore F1 would be worth looking at. I believe Diamana S+ is also quite a bit more butt stiff than the D+

One thing to think about is the fact KBS C-Tapers are counter balanced (butt stiff). Does this means the OP should be looking for shafts that are tip stiff as well and butt stiff? Some of the options shown are very tip stiff especially compared to the D+ setup. This might warrant a higher loft in the Driver to avoid losing distance with lower launch or choosing a shaft with a softer tip and a stiffer butt section.

I found this list with the international flex code to help. Look for something with 6 or higher in the first 2 numbers and narrow it down from there.

I would like both tip stiff and butt stiff. I appreciate the link. I launch the ball very high so I was originally fit into a 7.5 head. During my lesson with Dan we adjusted the hosel to 9.0* and very flat to offset the closed face. The trajectory is pretty good although a touch high I just don't like the feel of the shaft now that I am going at it harder.

My ss during the original fitting varied between 114-117. Launch was around 11 and spin was around 2800 with range balls if I recall. He didn't have a lot of shafts in x flex to try unfortunately and that day the D+ felt and flew pretty good but I tended to hit 80 gram shafts straighter and lower.

New grafalloy blue cheap and super effective I have similar swing and have tried kiyoshi purple devotion tour spec vc7.2 and received better numbers with the new blue there is a reason they brought it back we should be thankful they didnt jack the price
Only shaft that was close was kiyoshi white or black but 350 bux vs 80

I used to dislike the old Grafalloy Blue as I always felt like it was soft in the butt section. Is the new Blue stiffer? Right now I am leaning TS 7.2 or 8.2 I think.

Ts7.2 is nice
Feel is such a subjective term it feels more solid as a whole but smoother to me

speeder 7.2 ts. Ive gamed an Oban devotion 7 in 06 flex, tipped 1.5", a matrix black tie in x, a UST v2 96x and the speeder 7.2ts....if you want something that provides feedback but you can also flat out go after it and not have the shaft ever feel noodly then the speeder is it bro
