Ping i25 driver ~ any plans

I'm mulling over a new Ping driver but before taking the plundge on the G25 if the i25 is in the pipeline I will wait. anybody know if an 'i' version is due?

i think the I25 would be due next year. as im of the understanding ping is on a two year cycle with most of there products. the g25 is a really great looking club. i hit it on the range yesterday in stiff at 9.5 and regular at 10.5. the club was very staight and had a nice feel. i play a callaway ft9 for the last 3 years and the sound the ping makes at impact i felt was kind of loud imho. but others have stated that the ft9 is very mutted in sound. go hit the g25. its a very sharp club.

I bag the G25 right now. Longest and straighest driver I have owned ever, EVER. Did I mention EVER? Kicked my Anser to the curb which will be up for sale soon. The G25 is the real deal. I don't notice too loud of a sound compared to other drivers.

G25 for me is the best club I have ever hit. I'm a 20 who in the past has hit 40% fairways. With the g25 I'm well over 50% and Friday hit 11/14. Not the longest, but exceptional feel. Playing partners say it sounds bad but I don't notice.

With the g25 I'm done losing balls off the tee. No kidding in the month or so I have had it not one time jhave I hit two from a tee box.

I think I read somewhere that the i25 driver will be out there at retail in February 2014. I have two Anser drivers and a G25. I will try the i25 at a demo day in the spring, but I don't know how much an improvement it could possibly be over what I have now. I will have to see.

In another forum - a UK-based gentleman was suggesting that the i25 demo heads would be in carts on or around Jan 7th. They usually have the same time frame stateside.

Based on the urgency in which the local retailers in my state shipped back all their Anser woods I would think that date might be accurate. And if we can place orders at that time (jan 7) I think early Feb delivery of custom orders is spot on.

Think that was me, that's what my friend who works at a retailer said but I've also heard elsewhere that it's around the end of Jan that they'll have them at Gainsborough which wouldn't make much sense their national fitting centre getting them later, I have no reason to doubt the retailer and they have a fantastic relationship with the Ping rep but I want don't want to misinform anyone.

Last years Ping releases didn't ship until mid feb though even though I hit G25 demo irons in mid January so it may be a fair wait.

I definitely plan on hitting the i25. I have been trying to kick the Rapture V2 out of the bag but so for I have not found anything better. If the i25 gives me the same feel, pop and distance with more forgiveness I will buy it. If not then the Rapture gets played for a fourth season.

Brilliant - thanks for the clarification. PING traditionally gets their heads into the fitting carts a month before they get actual stock. Typically we can order when the fitting carts are outfitted - and delivery when the stuff hits the shelves.

I think we'll see something in the first half of Jan. And honestly that's all I want - to know what it's like and to tender my order. I don't mind waiting a month for delivery.
