I played TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney today...wow; what a great course & it is in great condition!!!

 

Too bad the development side of this community tanked; I can't believe so much of the commercial and residential zoned areas are still so barren...

 

If you get an opportunity, definitely play this track!

Thanks for your great review of TPC Craig Ranch! We are proud to have such an elite course on-site. It might be hard to tell from the course, but development within Craig Ranch has been booming over the past couple years. All residential land is now sold and all but one tract has an active building program by some of DFW’s best builders. Craig Ranch ranked #7 in new home starts in 2012 and several of the builders have already sold out of their lots. There is new development going on along Sam Rayburn to add a new entrance and amenities to serve the McKinney Corporate Center at Craig Ranch, the official corporate center for the City of McKinney. Traxxas’ construction of their national headquarters and support facilities on Alma just north of Sam Rayburn is well underway and retail activity is also up with PlayTri opening up next month. I've played this course in a tournament, it was a blast and yes, it is very nice. I also attended the Web.com tournament last year there, wish there were more tournaments at this course.

CraigRanch, that's good news & hope it's true...I know the timing of the launch of your development unfortunately collided with a very bad political-economic event. I do hope those projects are well under way as there was a lot of virgin dirt unscathed in both the residential & commercially zoned areas around the course.
Hopefuly, it becomes fully-realized like Vacquero has on the opposite side of town and some of the original commercial tenants come back. I guess competing with Club Corp around the corner at Stonebridge Ranch has been challenging...
I will say this; your staff did a great job during the tournament on Monday and the course (design, layout, visuals, condition, etc) was top-notch!

While I can understand the defensive nature of your post due to all the invester-fatigue related to the lack of growth & erosion of tenants, do the right thing and host NickPhillips for a round of golf & some frosty cold beverages.

Got a $25 credit in the clubhouse that I used on lunch
Also received a REPLAY for t-th anytime for just a cart fee (guests can come for $125)

We play TPC Craig Ranch every year on the Golf Channel AM Tour. Nice track, great staff.

Back in 2009, I was on temporary duty at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport over Memorial Day weekend. I wanted to get some LM #'s for my driver and the closest TrackMan was at Craig Ranch, so I called over and set up an appointment. Had a great time and the pro comped the session when he found out we were Air Force and had driven so far. We weren't able to play the course, but they did get us a tee time over at the Tribute that afternoon, which was fun.

Bumped into Emmitt Smith and Lance Armstrong on their way out to play outside the clubhouse at Craig Ranch, which was also pretty funny.
