How's your driver swing/contact?

I don't have video of my swing -- it's pretty short & simple like yours, but I have a hard time keeping the same compactness with the driver (and I think I collapse that left arm after impact). Hooks are also my problem.

Just wondering if you've had issues with the driver, and if you've found a way to address them.

Driver is usually the problem child where I do hit a few hooks. It is a combo of moving off the ball and staying too far behind it, swinging a little to much to the right, not having the chest open enough, and not enough extension with the arms past impact. It is all linked together and if I can stay more centered, get the chest open, and get the extension it will not go left. The arms are the key to all of it though.

Sounds like my game, too. I can really groove it at the range most days. It's just not there yet like my irons are on the course. Driver is the source of 75% of my bogies, I think.

funny you have this issue Heath..... had Dan look at my swing this last week and he noticed I was rehinging early as well. got wider going thru and its been much better....also seems to shallow the path some as well.

Dan gave me some things to work on, some feelings. Keep the left shoulder low when I rotate. I haven't had time to really work on it, but I tried it before I played 9 holes today. I only hit about 20 balls and I videoed two of them. These look better to me, but Dan will let me know later what he thinks. My mind can only think of one thing at a time, so in these swings I feel like I lost some width with my arms at the top, and I didn't rotate my lower body as fast as I have been, but I did accomplish getting the shoulders more level at P6 than there were previously which was the goal. The ball is flying very straight which is good. I hit the ball really solid for 9 holes. Here you go. I can't wait to really work on this and groove it.

Killing the driver. It is flying very straight, no curve really. I can pull it a little or push it a little, but not much side spin. I started hitting driver off of holes that I used to hit 3 wood and hybrid because I have more confidence in it now.

Dan wants me to try to keep my left shoulder low on the downswing as I rotate lv. He wants me to try to get my shoulders level at P6. They are still tilted now, with the left being higher than the right, but not nearly as much as they were. If you stop the video at P8, I have about 6 inches more extension than I did in the previous swings, most I have ever had.

A couple of new swings. Dan's and-aid seems to still be working lol. I know there are things that need fixed, but it is coming along. The ball striking is better. The misses are straighter. I have almost given up on hitting the ball left to right. Today I hit the driver slightly left to right, but I seem to play better if I hit a draw with the irons. Working on getting the left shoulder lower at P6 and more extension past impact. I have seemed to fix my heading floating right too, it is more centered. Now I need to get more width at the top like I used to have with a bigger turn, and put the rest together and I will be closer. THANKS DAN.

How you keep the left shoulder low in the downswing? Mine immediately pops and springs upwards. All the pros can do this. Keeping the shoulders closed as long as possible? Separation of hands from right shoulder asap? Difficult to even pose with level shoulders at p6

I am just trying to feel like my left shoulder is closer to the ground on the downswing. It obviously can improve, but it is better than it was.

After watching the Pros today at Murifield, I have decided I am going to go ahead and let the ball go right to left a little and I am going to hit it high again. I have tried to get the ball down and hit it left to right, but my ball always wants to fall left anyway. Most of the guys I watched today hit it way high and it falls left. The wind was howling and they were still firing it straight up in the air.

For a lot of people you have to feel like the left shoulder actually moves down 3-4 inches in the downswing just to hold it steady in the early part of the downswing. Gotta feel a mile to see an inch in this game.
