He also has four top tens. He just picked a bad way to start off the year by not playing enough. Also Tiger's domination has made it look worse then it really is.

Even last year he was in the 80's for Strokes Gained Putting. Imagine if he could putt like Woods or Snedeker. Geez.

I think he shouldn't have gone with the Method, we've seen that it takes some time to get used to for these guys. It might pay off in the long run though as we've seen one guy go back to the top of the world in putting with it.

Putting. He's gone from not even hitting the hole to hitting just about every lip from all distances. That cycle changes and they all start falling - watch out for low numbers then.

I think he shouldn't have gone with the Method, we've seen that it takes some time to get used to for these guys. It might pay off in the long run though as we've seen one guy go back to the top of the world in putting with it.

It's not the putter that's the problem. Tiger was struggling badly with the Scotty Cameron when he switched to the Method. It's all about the dude using the club, not the club itself.

They needed someone to fill Tiger's shoes. However, that doesn't make you Tiger. The expectations put him are unrealistically high.

I'm pretty confident Rory will get hot sometime this year and win a few, happened last year at the PGA and tournaments after. He's kind of like a more consistent Phil, you can't predict when he's going to show up but when he does watch out.

Rory is a combination of Tiger's talent and Phil's inconsistency. Average it all out and he will likely have a career in between the two, something like 50-60 wins and 8-10 majors. Rory will never be consistent enough with the putter to win at the rate that Tiger does.

He's Rory ... not the "next Tiger".

I'm afraid Tiger has set the bar so ridiculously high that Rory is getting hurt by just being a great golfer. The dude has played 8 events this year, made the cut in 7, top 10 in four of them. 28th on the FedEx. That (on the whole) is a pretty great (consistent) record.

The problem is that (as it is with so many great golfers) he is playing in the Tiger era. Tiger's had a bunch of physical/psychological/pr issues for a few years ... but he's now apparently back. 7 starts, 5 top ten finishes ... 4 [i]wins[/i]?

Seriously ... the best in the world win 2 or 3 times a year ... I cannot remember any golfer ever (having watched golf for several decades) winning OVER 50% of the tourneys he enters. That's just sick.

[Parenthetically ... it doesn't seem like Tiger cares about anything other than Majors anymore ... but it is likely that this year or next year he'll surpass Sam Snead for most tourneys won ... which is pretty astounding].

Rory is a great kid, and has a fantastic game ... and IMO he is sort of like Phil ... if Tiger didn't exist ... they'd be the best of their generation.

According to the Tiger fans, Rory who? He can't win, Tiger owns the rest of the schedule.. lol But I would still be surprised to see Rory win this year after all his changes to Nike.. He just hasn't shown enough consistency and I'm not sure what to make of that.. Was his 2011 and 2012 seasons just a fluke? If they weren't he'll be back in 2014 with vengeance with 5+ wins and a major or two..

I've watched Rory since his debut at the Open at Carnousite, always a brilliant shotmaker but has always been streaky with his putting. Probably why you see him win by a lot when he does considering how good his ball striking usually is.

I don't think he likes the scrutiny of being in that spot, so he is right where he wants to be. He can lay low and just focus on playing good golf.
