I just now noticed the long hosel w/ the ferrule on the new One. It's old school meets new finish. I love it!!

... that one style with the ferrule is big-time cool. what finish is that ... is it hard to take care of? is that the pencil shaft ... if so, is the butt .600 (vs. the old skinny .500 ones)?

 

wow ... take away the offset and move the shaft position a hair towards center and i want that thing :-). very sweet modern take on a really classic mills style ... i love it.

Question...what is the significance of the dots (I have heard it referred to as "snow")? Do they cause any distraction during putting?

 

What does a carbon softail run?

the snow and custom stampings have been a staple of the mills line for a long time. it distinguishes the retail line from the tour putters and makes every putter truely unique. they are not distracting at address....unless you painted them some loud color. Jay has softails on his site www.tpmillsputters.com they retial for $255. the tour issues and custom shops are selling a little higher here at the show.

 

the Blue finish has been dubbed saphire blue but every putter has a little different hue. some are a lighter blue and some are a deep purple. The old school one is a really slick peice im sure Drew cant wait to get it tommorow.

While I didn't go as crazy as you (!!), I bought 4 from David at the show...

a satin Tradition, a satin Softail, a carbon Tradition custom centershaft, and a carbon Fleetwood. David was just giving great deals - all together I got the 4 putters, 3 hats, and 4 of his new grips (which are awesome btw) for just a hair less than $500.

 

He was afraid he wouldn't sell many there he told me! They were really selling well the two days I was at the show (thurs/fri).

 

Dave's great and loves to talk putters!

That oil can finish is dy-no-mite! Looks like I need to revise my custom Tradition order! I wonder how that finish will age with proper care? Any thoughts?

the oil can is mine and i finally got to see it today in the sun and it looks nothing like the pics....actually the blues dont either. they are so stunning in person outdoors you cant even believe. David doesnt know about how it will hold up because its so new but you care for it just like all carbon heads a little oil and keep it dry.

While you were gone it was decided here that food-grade silicone spray (YUMMY) is preferable to mineral oil for carbon steel putter care.
