Which Anser loft?

Hi guys, just needed a quick bit of advice.

I've been looking to change my R11 for a little while and yesterday hit and loved the Anser.

I've got the shaft sorted but a little confused over which head to go with! My optimum shape and flight came with 10 degrees of loft, which can be dialled in to either the 9.5 or 10.5 heads. I was therefore wondering if anyone knew of any differences in the heads....... ie whether one is more forgiving than the other.

My pro suggested the 9.5 but I don't think I've ever had a 9.5 as I've always leaned towards more loft whenever in doubt!

It sounds like you might have already, subconsciously, decided on the 10.5. IMO, I think they would be so close you wouldn't notice any appreciable difference.

The Anser is a very low spin head, you may need the extra loft of the 10.5 to max it out.

Yup, if you normally lean to 10.5* the Ansers low spin should take you that way.

If you are going to play at ten degrees consider face angle. If you adjust a 10.5 to 10 you will slightly open the face angle. If you adjust a 9.5 to 10 you will slightly close it.

+1 to the above. I have a 10.5 (digitally lofted at 10.8) and I play it 1/2 degree more loft. This does 'close' the face angle some. Works for me. Love it. As OP above said, you get 9.5 and make it 10* you'll close the face. Make it 9* and you open the face slightly. So a 10.5 made to ten will be open and a 9.5 made to 10* will be closed. Just FWIW. Can you try both? Do you know if you prefer Open or Closed Face Angle? It is a great club. 4 very good shaft choices. Also, remember with Ping drivers, and I love Ping, the loft on the club could be 1 to1 1/2 degrees more than stated. Friend got a 9.5 G25. Was not digitally lofted. Turns out it's just over 11*s. Just something to know/be aware of FWIW. Good Luck.

Thanks everybody. I have hit both and quite liked both to be honest.......hence the dilemma!

I usually prefer a club to sit slightly open so I think that may make the decision in favour of the 10.5.

Richard I agree with you. I was really impressed with the anser and 4 very good shaft options. My best results were with the blur and the tfc, but I've settled on the tfc which feels great. I had a G2 for 6 years before I bought the R11, and that also had the tfc and I always got on with it very well.
