I thought I saw a thread about this somewhere but i can't seem to find it. Anyway, post your favorite quotes you heard from this weekend.

 

Here's mine -

4 younger (late hs, maybe early college) kids walking by me as I am enjoying a beer on the patio, they had just finished playing Bethpage Black when one of them turns to the group and says "a 132?!? I am never playing here again that wasn't even fun" I found it to be hilarious at the time as the tone of his voice was pure shock and confusion.

My favorite golf quote of all time and this quote takes up a 40 year span of playing golf:

Playing no. 5 par 4 at the local course with a few buddies. There's 2 young guys playing in front us. One young guy is taking quite a long time looking for his ball. We wait and wait and finally they both start walking back twards us on the tee. This seems pretty odd and of course we cant hit yet so we wait for them to pass by. As they get closer I say, Givin it up? Young man turns to me and says...." Have to.....I lost my ball". I look at my playing partners in disbelief. HEY I say, come here. They walk over and I dig out 3 or 4 balls out of my bag and hand them to the young man and say....get back up there and finish your round.

The kids eyes light up like a Christmas tree and he says....Really!!! Really I say, now get back up there. They actually ran back to where they were and continued their round.

Many times over the years I've said to my playing partners while looking for a ball. " I may have to quit" why....I think I lost my ball.

The look on that kids face when I gave him those balls was like they say.... Priceless.

I don't...Ma....Ma....I don't know okay I'll have to see if my insurance covers it okay? I'll look it up tonight...I....I'LL LOOK IT UP TONIGHT! Okay I gotta go, bye Ma I love you....hey WAIT ARE YOU STILL THERE?"

All about 40 decibels from what sounded like the voice of a man who has smoked about 6 packs of Marlboros a day for 35 years.

My buddy did this 2 days ago:

For the second time in 3 holes, the same guy on an adjacent fairway was getting ready to hit my buddies ball when we drove up in the cart and stopped him.

My buddy hands him a dozen logoed "chicken on the way" Titleist Nxt's he had in his bag from a tourney and says, " now you have 12 new balls. Stop trying to hit mine!!"

After a moment of speechlessness, I couldn't stop laughing for 2 holes!

Sunday

hooked my ball into the water off the tee, so i took a drop and had 255 dead into the wind hit the best 3 wood shot of my life get up to the green and its 7 feet away for par. Told my 2 friends i was playing with:

Proceed to 3 putt for double

Played with a buddie who had completely lost his game. We are walking up the right rough line looking for another one of his balls. He just stops puts down his bag raises his arms and his eyes up to the heavens and screams " Can I PLEASEEEE have my swing back"

I played with a wife and husband who play 3 of 4 times a week together and after the round the wife stated that "It was finally nice to play a round with someone good" Made me laugh

Was playing the other day and I dont know how but my drive hit a goose and bounced out of bounds.. we drove up too the injured goose and of course as soon as we get near it hobbles away (poor goose) and since I didnt know the rules about if you hit a animal and it bounces out of bounds what do you do? So I just dropped a ball and ended up par'ing the hole. After I made the par putt the cart lady from a distance said nice "Goose par", I know its not too funny too read but it was pretty hilarious at the time

We were in FLorida for a sales meeting, and this squeaky guy from NJ hits one in the pond. He goes over to the water, runs back, and starts scraming "hey guys there alligaotrs in the water" like a woman. We all cracked up.

My Fav is years ago this kid and his buddy playing in front of us. We watch him on every hole and he has to be not enjoying himself. Watched him on one hole put two in the water and the next hole put two in the woods. We catch the kid on the 17th and he asks how we are doing, i say not to bad. He then saves i am playing normal clipping at -2. My BIl snaps off where in the parking lot before you started. I start laughing and so does his friend. Kids looks at me and says lets play last 2 holes for a lunch. I was like fine but my BIL keeps score not you. He turned it down and walked in. LOL

Same thing... my uncle was in a trap and had a hell of a time getting out. Maintenance guy was waiting with his lawnmower off until we cleared the green and says, "nice out" as my uncle finally blasts one over the green. My uncle says thanks and asked him if he played a lot to which the maintenace guy says, "nah, best two balls I ever hit on the course is when I stepped on a rake in the sand trap." It was hard to put after that.
