best hat for hot days?

I'm looking for suggestions for golf hats for the hot sunny Texas weather. Characteristics I would want in a hat would be moisture wicking and UV protection. I saw a few "tour hats" by titleist and other companies at the PGA store but I don't necessarily want to pay $30 to be a walking logo with 360 degree ads on the hat. Anyone have suggestions for a brand that might just have a simple logo on just the front? I'm looking for cap style hats but would consider bucket style also.

Check out Coolibar. They are UV protection, and the one I have is washable, white, wide brim, which shades your entire head, and because they are a softer material, they can be folded, and then reshaped again to your liking. Mine also has a chin strap which in S Tx where I play, the wind can many days be over 20 mph. Because it is of a soft material, it may not have the classic shape you will get with a molded straw hat, but for high heat and wind,,its a hard to beat hat.

Another idea is a Stetson straw hat, more of a molded hat, but also looks good without a logo, but since its not washable, sweat tends to build up to a bit of odor after 6 months or so.

I think you would enjoy one of Nike's Feather Light hats. I bought one for running and just the past year started using it for golf as well. It's hard to put into words how much I love the hat haha. One of the best perks is being able to throw it in the washer without fear of ruining the hat. Just make sure to not put into the dryer, but to let it air dry. Just google "Nike Dri-FIT Feather Light Hat" to find it.

I wear a lightweight Nike Golf hat that they sell at the club pro shop. It is one of the best hats I have ever worn as far as fit and comfort. Mine has a swoosh on the bill and the club logo in the center. I have one in white and it has held up well over the past year.

thanks for the replies. i might go with the coolibar for a bucket style and the nike for a cap style. i'll look around and see if i can find them.

UnderArmour has some good looking stretch mesh style caps. Heat Gear wicking and similar shape as a Titleist hat, with only front and back branding.

You may be able to find it at a local club with their logo on it. Those look pretty bland, but usually they look much better once there is a logo on the front.

I wore my new Underarmour Coldblack bucket this Saturday in 100°+ weather and it was glorious. Keeping that heat off my neck was the ticket. I'm not much of a "popped collar" kind of guy so this bucket hat served its purpose very well.

Live in Texas and never wore caps or hats for years. But, last few years, tops of my ears have suffered really bad, sunblock or not. Caps don't work because I still get the tops of my ears burned. I found a gambler style straw hat that is fairly loose weave straw so it breathes and it does a great job protecting my ears.

I got this hat at the TX State Fair 2 years ago after having one of those crappy microfiber hats from PGA Superstore. It can be drenched with water, maintains it's shape and the wind blows right through it to keep your head cool. No sunburn on the neck and ears with this.

The guy and his wife each run a booth at the fair and they have other styles also. Seems like this one was about $50 and worth every penny.
