WOW...Paul Casey using the Sumo2. It does not surprise me at all that more guys are putting this into play because it is such a solid product.

I know that guys have really bashed this product but once people get the opportunity to try this technology I feel there will be alot more people tht will change their perception of these new Geometry drivers. Fit correctly with the right shaft/ flex combo makes this product too good to pass up for the guy looking for more consistency off the Tee.

USA Today had a article about the square drivers and there is a test done with both drivers...Until these products hit the market, lets not assume that because they have similar designs they perform the same.

It is going to be fun this year with all of the new equipment coming out...FT-I; D1 & D2 along with a TM Burner that looks like the Original SQ in profile.

Having seen the club in person, it is not as bad as some have made it out to be.

Unlike others that continually say that there is no technology behind the club without proof, it is an attempt to bring technology to the marketplace on a mass scale.

Yes, this has been out in Japan and other markets in previous years, but Japan has historically had product that we seldom see, so not surprising that we are just seeing square drivers on a mass scale with Nike, Callaway, and Orlimar putting out the 1st Generation (with hopefully further revision in future generations).

I hope that people will keep an open mind/view point when trying the product and not let their dislike of certain people and brands based upon certain individuals with not so covert motives and views keep them from trying a potentially great product...

Now Dan, that is the most degrating thing you could ever say about a Fungo bat. You have struck humiliation to all Fungo bats in the world.

The Sumo2 is loud. There aren't many things in this world that are louder or more annoying at the same time like the Sumo2 is. It is the only item in the world that has that distinct honor of being both at the same time.

I've read that Tiger had already put the Sumo series to the test but decided to stick w/ the SQ because the Sumo series was 'too straight' meaning not workable enough for his liking. I wonder if he'll ever try it at a tournament.

Looks like somebody's building an entire downtown looking at the picture's background..

Well, for me, that driver is ridicolously straight. And with good roll as well.

It's a winning combo, and I'm deciding on whether to get the stock shaft (which I've demo'd, and would need an X flex) or the VS Proto 65 stiff which is an option... and I love the VS Proto shaft in my hybrids...

That driver is that good..

I'm not so sure Casey is putting the Sumo2 in play. If you look at the other pics of this on Getty, it's from the DDC media day and he and Marc Warren were hitting drives with the skyline as a backdrop (purely for publicity's sake). In the pics Casey is hitting some drives with a Sumo and some with a Sumo2. Guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see which one he puts in play...

I'm guessing that's Dubai, the entire country is under construction. I think it's the largest concentration of construction cranes for hi-rises anywhere.

i saw a stat the other day that said dubai has about 30,000 cranes thats 25% of the worlds active cranes working there at the moment. The place has gone mad.

Dubai's going to be the next Hong Kong, if it isn't already.

This is funny  from someone who plays all Nike equipment........but good ups :cheesy: to including the other companys.....

To be accurate Tiger isn't putting it in play yet because it rolls out too much for him. He is looking for a combo to give him more spin.

I bet this is Steve Williams is it...... :yahoo: info straight from Tigers bag.......

Now THIS is a good position!

:) PERFECT at the top!!!!!

Yes, Mark Warren (???) is using the Nike Toaster as well

Again in practice.....

I guess that's from the American public addicted to their oil.

My point is that people are judging this product without even trying it out first...My feeling is there have been a lot of bashing on this new product without merit. It should be interesting to see what the reaction will be after people have the opportunity to hit this technology. I am not saying that everyone will like or benefit from this product but some people should see immediate improvement off the Tee.

Nike; Callaway; Titleist and Cleveland among others are coming out with Geometry drivers so there must be something to this trend...I am all for this but I know it is not for everyone. My thought is that many people will be pleasantly surprised by this technology and how easy it is to hit these products.

Why does it surprise anyone that Pro's are trying these products? This is the same thing that happened last year with the SQ and Hi-bore drivers. Funny thing happened along the way...All of the OEM's including the traditional driver companies are going the route of Geometry for performance.

Think of the options of MOI Driver this year for 2007

Sumo2

Sumo

FT-5

FT-I

TM Burner

Titleist D1 & D2

Cleveland Hi-Bore XL.

IT SHOULD BE A INTERESTING YEAR FOR EQUIPMENT IN 2007  :cheesy: :)

Personally I'm going to keep an open mind about these drivers; as I've mentioned in other posts I've already ordered the Ft-i (9.5* tour, 686 X) and want to purchase the Sumo as well (have a code 6XX waiting for this guy!). Lot's of cash however but what the hell; can't take it with ya! After that the FT-5 possibly but can't see the Sumo2 making the cut. Can you say "mint sticks for sale". Oh ya; picked up a 9* Ping rapture/VS Proto X combo on a trade and this thing flat out works! FYI; I'm playing it at 44.5'/D3/271cpm's and it's a very long and solid driver combo. I didn't think people liked the Rapture or the VS Proto but both feel pretty damn solid to me. Much much better than any previous composite head I've it. Medium high and boring trajectory that seemed to drill through the frigid Ohio air. This will definitely make it to the first tee in 2007.

Irons: 19' Cobra CB's
Drivers: Titleist TS3 & Cobra F9
Fairway: Titleist 917F2
Hybrid: A-Grind
2 iron: Ping Rapture
Wedges: Ping Gorge 2.0 Stealth's
Putter: Evnroll 9.1
Balls: ProV1

I saw on Discovery channel the other day the exact reason for all the construction over there. They built the world's largest man-made island. It is right near the original city of Dubai, and is shaped like a palm tree! It was truly an amazing thing to watch. Over 300,000 residents have already purchased homes on the island, with lots running anywhere from $500,000 to $1,000,000(i believe)! Amazing the growth that is happening over there
