Great track. Not too long but has some brutal par 3's.  How were you able to play it?

it was 4 player scramble.  we ended up with 65.  The winning team was 57.

It was my 2nd time playing there.  The layout shows the age.  Definitely fun track.

hell yea, I think I paid rack rate last time i played which was $90 or $100??  Definitely worth $49 and a steal compared to other local muni's

Phreddy - I haven't played Sand Valley. Tobacco Road is not everyone's cup of tea because of some blind shots and some quirky holes, but I loved it. It's on a great piece of land and the mixture of holes is great. There is a lot of visual deception and many challenging shots, but in each instance an easier option is available that makes the hole longer. It's a course that you need to play more than a couple times to best play your way around. I hope I can find a time to return there. It has some resemblance to Strant's True Blue, but on a much better site. A couple holes reminded me of Ballyneal and two blind tee shots reminded me of Royal County Down.

@sabram thanks for the great pictures, Tobacco Rd is one of my favorite courses. I wouldn't play it every day (or maybe I would) but I've been a few times now and always the enjoy the experience. Conditions are pretty much perfect every time I've gone. Spot on with your description too.

Wow, looks like they have really fixed up Papago!  I lived out there about 15 years ago and it was always a great location and layout, but pretty run down.  Looks terrific now.  Always loved playing there when there was a football game at the ASU Stadium and you could hear the crowd when there was a TD/big play.

The course was renovated 12 years ago ($8 million), and they just opened the new clubhouse. It's now ASU's home course.

No, Palos Verdes Golf Club is private. You are thinking of Los Verdes Golf Course.
