i just took these off my maybe list due to the finish problems i've read about.

I stopped leaving my house because CNN says the world is a violent and terrible place.

Come on man. It's like a fraction of a percent of the population that had an issue for a 90 day period. Likely rectified by PING.

Less internet, more golfing.

I have about 6 rounds not in with the SPB's in my i20's. They are not much lower than the CFS in X flex. If anything, I have been surprised at how well I liked the CFS X flex. In hind sight, although I like the SPB's better, for the amount I spent on them, I would have stuck with the CFS stock shafts they are that good. I do like the consistency of the SPB a little better, they are a little smoother feeling.
[/quote]

I like the feeling of the Super Peening Blues and the finish of the shaft, looks very nice.
And like you I was absolutly surprised about the CFS, but they were too light for me. And the dispersion of the SPB is a killer. never hit that much lasers. like those 9 or 8 Iron punches to the pin.

[*]got em today :golfer: had a quick session before work hitting the PW 6 8 irons. WOOOOWWW Theses irons are point n shoot straight as an arrow. A few that were hit towards the toe were totally an eyeopener. They drew back towrds the target with minimal yardage loss.. They all tear through the rough with great ease and a beautiful divots. I was hitting high baby fades where as my MP 69 were a penetrating draw. They really felt great Nutted shots felt like my Mizunos.. what u think is a bad hit has wonderful results :taunt::taunt::taunt: The CFS shafts are awesome definitely a higher ball flight than my KBS stiffs but they flatten out n carry nicely :scenic:

And... have you switched to the SPB or are you still using the CFS?

I did install the SP Blues. After playing the CFS for about three weeks, I installed the SP Blues X straight in.

Here are my thoughts:

CFS X flex - I was stunned at how good that shaft is and how well I liked that shaft. Although the overall swing weight was light, D0 they still felt pretty good. I ordered them D0 because I knew the heavier SPB would increase the swing weight which they did to D3. The CFS X had about the same trajectory as the SPB, only slightly higher. The dispersion was almost as good too.

SP Blue - this shaft is really really smooth. It is heavier feeling than the CFS which was to be expected. The trajectory on the SP Blues are hard to beat, it is the lowest launching shaft I have hit. I like to be able to hit the ball high when necessary and am able to do that for the most part with the SPB, but the shot I play the most is more of a knock down 3/4 swing and the SPB is perfect for that. The SPB is not too hard to turn over or fade and they seem to spin just right. In the long irons though, I would say the SPB is almost too low of a launch and the CFS may be better in the 3 and 4 iron. One thing I like about the SPB is that I can make a less than full swing and they do not feel too stiff. But, if I really rip at one it is stiff enough to stay with me. Unlike the C-taper X where they feel dead to me if I take something off of a shot. Some say the SPB is not that stiff, but I think it is stiff but the smoothness makes it feel less stiff if that makes sense. So overall, the dispersion is very good with the SPB and the trajectory is spot on with the exception of the 3 and 4 I wish were a touch higher.

In hind sight, the CFS X was a pleasant surprise. I ended up ordering a UW to go with the set and Ping set it up like the original order, CFS X at D0. I still have not swapped that shaft out yet with the SPB. With the CFS being as good as they are, I almost wished I had saved the $250 that I spent on the SP Blues. However, the SPB is the best shaft I have played and I do really like them. They are a little tighter and better launching. But, I have been thinking about throwing the CFS back into the 3 and 4 irons and swapping the CFS in the UW to the SPB.

I'm a 16 cap and based on that I should have jumped into the G25s when I finally got away from my Rapture V2s. I have had great success with my TourS wedges (52,56,60,64) with KBS Tour stiff shafts so I wanted to stick with that "mold" of an iron. Hit the i20s and G25s in the sim back and forth for over an hour and I couldn't believe how nice the i20s were. The feeling, the flight, the forgiveness. I grabbed a set with KBS Tour stiffs in them and instant magic. Such a nice combo for me. Great irons with a nice look...

I haven't swapped the shafts just yet, but when I do I will let you know. I love the SP Blue so there are definitely going in. I doubt they come back out either.

Yes, I am going to keep them. I am pretty sure I am going to put the CFS back in the 3 and 4 iron just to see what they do.

Totally agree that the CFS is a big winner. But as you stated before, the SPB is probably the best out there when it comes to steel. I discovered the same as you, very low launching shaft. For me it is best seen at the shorter irons. These irons are low lasers. I appreciate that. But the longer irons are quite low that's true. I have probable the benefit that I play the G25, and because of this my irons (especially the longer ones) are launching higher.

As I said a few times before, probably best combo I've ever played!
