I am thinking about playing Greywalls at Marquette Golf Club this fall and I was wondering what type of condition it is in. Does anyone have any opinions on the club? This will be my first trip up to the upper and I was wondering if it is worth playing?

It is worth it, but i am not sure what kind of condition it is in during the fall. When you get there dont judge it by the looks of the original course and the club house, Greywalls is way up the hill.

I played Greywalls last September and it was stunning...so much so that you'll probably not even notice the condition...which was great when I played. The clubhouse is nothing to look at, but who cares. I was told they were building a separate clubhouse for Greywalls up the aforementioned hill. The old course is a Langford and Moreau layout I believe (Lawsonia Links) that is slated for restoration, but not what you go to Marquette to play. Take your camera...the opening tee shot will take your breath away.

Grew up off 9th fairway of original. Greywalls is awesome. Haven't seen it in bad shape yet. Wish I could play it more.

I played on Tuesday and had a great time. Weather was perfect and the course is in very nice shape. I would like to thank Marc for his gracious hospitality and if you are anywhere near Greywalls in the future to make sure you get in a round. I was fortunate enough to play with a member (thanks Pete) and the local knowledge is invaluable. Enjoy your round!

Greywalls is the best course I've ever played. It's rugid and raw.....as good as it gets!

I'm headed up to the U.P to play Greywalls, Sweetgrass, and TimberStone late next week.

Looks like they punched and topdressed some of the greens at Greywalls today. I'm not sure how long the recovery takes, but I'm hoping they are in good shape for my trip. Cant wait.

According to their grounds blog, just 3 of them, but I'm not sure if they plan to punch more in the next couple of says. Here is a link FYI

Curious to read your reviews. I was blown away by Timber Stone...what a fantastic track. There were 4 greens that needed some major repair but aside from that the course was in decent shape. I heard they're dealing with a fungus that could be a major issue for some time. Our favorite of the three.

Greywalls was a blast...especially the front 9 which ate me up and spit me out. Definitely want another go at this track.

Sweetgrass was enjoyable and a welcome change to the tight tree-lined challenges of the other two. Relatively flat but still a good test....surprisingly lost as many balls here as the other two combined.

Wow, having lived in Marquette for some time as a kid, I don't think I've ever seen a waterspout on lake Superior. That's amazing.
