So, iteachgolf (Dan) is gone?/How can I reach him (merged)

I know the editors at WRX pissed him off somehow, but I didn't think he'd up and leave considering the following/business he has here... Too bad, I know I won't be checking the boards as much.

ummmmm......he is still around....he's just really busy catching up on all the swingfix videos everyone has sent him. plus he is working on setting up an indoor facility in Jacksonville, which has his attention as well. I was down in Jacksonville last week with him. he is still around...no worries

Well, I didn't mean "gone" gone, as in 6 feet under... I'm sure he's busy (I'm one of his students), but he hasn't posted here in close to a month and I believe it was on his twitter account that he renounced the site.

That that would be kind of silly if true considering Dan drove site hits and volunteered articles for free. I'd think they would pay him, not the other way around

The best instructors and the best content has come from those who aren't "sponsors". They generate traffic. Not everyone on this site is here for the discussions of Scotty Cameron, Tour issued junk, or Holly Sanders (ok, Ill give you that one). I am sure this isnt the first time this has happened.

Where you one of those who allegedly lodged a complaint about the number of positive experiences being posted about Dan?

I noticed almost a month ago that Dan hadn't been posting. I even mentioned it in an email that had to do with other things and he never addressed it. I am going to see him tomorrow and will ask, but most likely not comment on here unless he wants me to.

I am completely guessing, but as lv_2 mentioned, I doubt it has anything to do with being a sponsor because if I am not mistaken I believe Dan did pay at one time.

It is sad, I miss the Gatchet and will miss Dan. Where ever Dan does contribute, I will most likely become a member of that site. I always wondered what happened to Orr too. I really liked his stuff.

It was mostly a matter of time though I thought, there were so many smart rears that constantly badgered him which I often asked him how he could stand that. I would not have had his patience with some of them.

I figure if people are giving you money for a service and not a product, the least you can do is communicate with people.
