I mainly never look because I'm a lefty and usually all the pinned ads are right handed clubs. When someone's BST ad doesn't have shafts or accessories I do not look.

i glance at the pinned adds, i hate when they take up the entire 1st page but i usually go back a good 4-10 pages on bst adds. i feel if someone pays the add fee they are looking to recoup it in the sale as i certainly would so i tend to only read the topic title and if there is a club in the title im interested in i will check the entire add

FWIW I usually skip them myself, but on ads where im selling big things, I can justify the $10 pinning fee.

no - this thread pops up every now and then...apparently pinned ads are evil and those who skip them are savvy shoppers.

Listen - pinned ads bring this site money, that's a good thing.

Pinned ads happen for a number of reasons...and all are valid, even those that overpriced their items initially...if they pay to pin their ads they are most likely motivated and their stuff will sell...

Skip over them, who really cares? Seems odd to me that anyone really needs forum confirmation for this action.

BTW - a search of "pinned ads" will give you all the info you need...

Here's the truth:

[size=4]Many pinned ads are due to having more than a couple items - it's difficult to unload many items before the ad gets lost on page 4...it's the reason I usually only sell a couple items at a time these days. Some prefer to unload up to the 10 items all at once - pinned ads [/size]benefit that.

Not all pinned ads are full of tour issue gear - look at what's pinned right now - there's a smattering but it certainly isn't predominant.

Yes, some are old ads and while you cannot add items to a pinned ad you can beforehand. If a couple things didn't sell and the seller doesn't want to wait 30 days he adds the new stuff and pins it up...

As I've already stated, a pinned ad may be the result of overpricing items, but if the seller is going to pay his $10 a week...pretty sure at some point soon the price will reach the reasonable level. Look at all the pinned ad titles with "price drops" some are even begging for their items to sell...you can find some pretty good deals there.

Again, those who decide to skip them are certainly entitled to, but they do get looks and the items sell...

Lastly, for as many of these threads that pop up, there's one thread I've never seen: "why isn't anyone looking at my pinned ad?"

Well it sounds like something is askew. I didn't say you had "junk"as honestly I don't know what you're selling but if your on the 3rd page with no offers then something is wrong. As I stated normally the prices are high or you just don't have things people want. And only trying to lose a little money? Golf clubs depreciate so quickly now. With some companies releasing 2-3 different clubs in a given year it's impossible to lose "only a little"

If you aren't getting offers, your prices are too high. Pretty simple really. No one wants to lose money, but if you want to sell your items, you need to be realistic. No one is paying $100 for a shirt, let alone 6 of them. No disrespect meant, just trying to offer some advice.

[/quote]None taken. To be fair, they aren't your normal shirts. Tour issue footjoy.titleist shirts sell for well over $100 all day in USED condition on ebay. I feel they are worth it for what they are; brand new, never worn tour issue gear that you simply cannot find on the racks at your local golf super-store.

I still feel my putters and drivers are priced fairly for what they are and the condition they are in.

[/quote]BST buyers are cheap as can be. You won't get anywhere near what you could get on eBay, although the fees over there even it out usually. You MIGHT sell some shirts if you pictured the logo on the sleeves of the Titleist shirts... (I didn't see any, just a tip ). And I have seen them in golf shops (Although not super-stores.)

Yeah, you are right. Just hate dealing with e-bay, but at least there are no low ballers lol. I didn't want to take any of the ones I am selling out of their bags but I did include representative pics of my other set a few posts down showing the Titleist logo and the FJ double stitching.

Ha, most businesses exist to make money. I'd be willing to bet that Shaf hasn't made any profit over those 435 feedbacks. If anything, he's probably lost a lot more than most.
