Golf god moments

How many of you guys have benefited or been cursed by the golf gods? This past weekend I hit a 7 wood (yeah I said it) off the tee of a short 290 yard par 4. I started it too right for my draw and it went through a couple of trees, but actually made it out OK and still ended up only 90 yards away. I get up to the ball and it's sitting in a deep narrow divot rested right up against the front edge. Hitting out of a divot is an extreme weakness of mine. Any one else have examples either way?

Today on my finishing hole....attainable Par 5.... on my second shot I hit my 4 wood, which I never sliced...wouldn't you know sliced into the woods on the right and a tree throws it out to about 100ish out. I hit my SW about 5 feet and make birdie.... . That was payback for the crappy bounce I got off a cart path that went left into the woods and not right....on anohter par 5.... golf...what a silly game..

It seems like my dad lives by the "golf gods". The other day I watched him shank a 5i, it drills a tree lining the ob line, instead of kicking further out, it ricochets back towards the fw, hits the cart path and bounces/rolls another 150 yds. He was 30 yds off of a par 5 in 2... Made me sick.

And I have just quick counting the number of times his ball with BOUNCE out of a fluffy bunker... I just don't get it! He will hit it dead center into a bunker and it will bounce out toward the green. It's like that stupid Traveler's insurance commercial with the dog moving the ball all over the place. I think he stole all the good luck in the family

I was in a tourney once, was +4 thru 13. Got to #14 par 5, 3rd shot in...shank. Ball finished on the tee box of next hole. Then proceed to open up my 62 and hit over the tree on to the green and in the hole for birdie. Next hole I make a 15 footer for par, next hole a 20 footer for par, then a 10 footer for par, and on 18 an nice little 8 footer for par and a win by one with a 75. Hit the ball pretty lowsy that day, but man there was something special happening around the green.

I hit a putt and it went directly into the center of the hole, hit the back side and came strait back towards me. Never seen this happen and still wondering what I did to piss the golf gods off!!!!!!!

Well I never said I don't hit it thin or hit it fat and I don't hit 300 yards but when i do hit it ...it sure doesnt slice...so don't know the point of your response

Please watch Caddy Shack, and, as half of us have here, memorize every line.

As far as Golf Gods, I had the golf Gods and golf Devil all in one shot. Pulled a drive on a par 5 to the left into the trees, ball rattles around, kicks out to the middle of the fairway. Get up to the ball, and I'm in a divot.

True story.

First round of golf ever, im on a 175yrd par 3. I hit a 9i pin high 12ft from the cup. I had meant to pull my 6i and only made it because I hit it thin on a line drive.

Last week I hit my drive and it was hooking to the right and it doesn't take much to go out of bounds but it hit the top of some tree branches and it kicked into the fairway and then something in the fairway kicked it into the rough but I was thrilled. Maybe it was the tree gods, however thank you

Beautiful ott swing from a severe fade lie from the rough with a 5 iron. This quality hooked shot flies OB bounces off a glass deck table, off the house and kicks back into play 30 yards from green. Two fortuitous bounces and decent lie from 30 yards...I still card a 6.

Benefit: 2nd shot from 230yds on a Par 5, decent lie in the rough. Trying to take a little bit off a 5wood I pulled it about 40yds left of the green heading straight for OB left(THICK woods/Thorns). Smacks a tree dead center and bounces directly backwards, onto a cart-path and one bounced into a Great lie in some trampled down rough. Hit LW to 4' for a Birdie.

Curse: Junior tournament play - Absolutely nailed a drive over the left edge of the fairway on a 401yd par4, fading back to left middle going to be a perfect set up for a 70-80yd LW. Ball hits the fairway and takes a flat 90° bounce to the left directly under a large Pine tree with bag worms all over it. I was not happy, I had to flip a 9iron over and punch out lefty - My punch was only supposed to go 30-40yds to the fairway by the green but it hits the hosel and shoots off-line and rests against a rake left on the wrong side of a bunker. After carefully moving the rake taking extra super careful measures to not move the ball while I'm taking my practice swings the ball rolls backwards into the depression left by the rake handle. No stroke is assessed as I was not addressing the ball however now my lie is horrible, try to punch it out over the bunker and it hits the lip and STICKS at the top edge of the bunker. Easy par/possible Birdie turned into Double Bogey by a bad bounce off the Drive. Gotta love golf.

Best Golf God's shot ever. I play a league with mainly seniors, they are my dad's friends and they have fun, Par 3 175 yds, trees surround the green and the guy in my group hits his driver...yes, driver, and slices it into the tree, bounces off, rolls INTO THE CUP for an ACE! I thought he was going to to have a heart attack! Said he's played golf for over 50 years and never had an ACE.

My worst Golf God curse was 2 years ago now. Par 5 downwind, shorty (480 ish...) hit a good drive down the fairway, took a 6 iron with the wind, the ball blew out the back of the cup, rolled off the green into the bunker that was basically mud...

Here's another one:
Played in a tournament about a year ago and had about an 8' uphill putt for birdie. The ball was headed straight for the middle of the cup so I started to walk and get it before the ball dropped. Sure enough the ball went half way down then circled around the cup and came out for a 2" tap in par. My group said they'd never seen a ball go that far in and come out.

Then this past weekend I had another similar putt to save par except the ball was pin high. I started to get the ball before it dropped but stopped in mid stride and paused. The ball caught left hit the center of the cup, spun around and dropped in.
