Golf Cart Accident

This is why I never hop on the back for a ride. Always seemed like a really good way to get hurt to me.

Glad to hear you aren't seriously injured but that could have ruined the rest of your summer for damn sure.

Players get all bent out of shape when golf shop staff asks not to ride three to cart or to act crazy driving. I have owned or leased hundreds in many years of course operation and I am glad this story was told. Congrats on playing well after the wreck.

Almost flipped a cart off a wet wooden raised walkway a couple weeks ago, was so scary. Obviously I was going to fast for the conditions but conditions were bad, I had my gf playing with me and wasn't goofing around at all. Would have tipped on her side and fallen about 10 feet into wetlands, I would have been single one way or another.

I'm an assistant pro so I've seen too many accidents from people not using carts correctly so if that makes me a stick in the mud so be it.

This was under the instruction of coaches and assistant pro's. I am not going to disobey them because it it says not to on the back. Plus the coaches drive and we have never ever had a problem.

So today I accidentally slipped into the lake because a sprinkler head broke and had made the bank very slippery. My leg got caught on a rock and I ended up banging my foot pretty bad. Needless to say I was wet, in pain, and morally defeated. However I was able to finish the round quickly, because it only took 68 strokes, which included an eagle on 18.

So my buddy and I were playing this weekend, and had a little accident when I fell off the golf cart. I was walking and he was riding, which I dont know why as he was putting out before I would get to my approach and looked like he was playing in the group in front. He also has a little trouble controlling his temper, and had been warned by the lady at the front desk to act like a gentleman. So we are walking off the 17th hold and its a little distance to the 18th tee box, so he says hop on. Ive got a drink in one hand and told him to take it easy, as Ive got my golf bag on my back, and am only holding on with one hand. All of a sudden Im thrown to the ground, hit my arm on the gravel, and proceeded to roll a couple of times. I get up and my arm is all bloody, half my clubs are out of the bag, and I have no clue what happened. I forgot to mention my bro in law was also golfing with us, and walking too, but hitched a ride in the golf cart, unlike me who was on the back. According to my bro in law my buddy leaned over and said, "watch this", and then proceeded to spin the cart on the gravel cart path. Needless to say I was pissed and so was my bro in law. We all rode together to the golf course, so it was definitely an awkward ride home. On a bright note, the reason we were playing that particular course was I had a tourney there the next day, which I ended up shooting 3 under to win. I felt a bit like Tiger Woods (not really), playing with pain and still pulling it off. Here is pic I took today, which shows a bit of the damage done. Moral of the story is don't ride on the back of a cart when your crazy friend is driving

 

 

I would have walked up to the driver, looked at the Bro-in-law, said "Watch this" and punched the driver in the mouth.

 

He probably would have got the message. I can't stand idiots.

Have you ever voiced your displeasure with the PGA, because everytime there is a playoff in a tournament I see caddies riding on the back all the time when they get taken to the first playoff hole
