Maybe this is premature.....but there are a few big names well outside automatic selection.

Who do you guys pick and why????

Gotta say.....after looking at the Rest of the World team....on paper it looks pretty rough for World Team.

As long as Bubba isn't picked, we should win.

International Team as present

Scott
Schwartzel
Els
OOsthuizen
Day
Matsuyama
Grace
Sterne
Cabera
Clark

Are the top 10. My 2 captain picks would be Jaidee Love watching him play. Shame he only plays on Eurotour and Geoff Ogilvy. Even though Geoff is having a tough year he is a good Match play player.

from 10 through 20 we have, DJ, Zach Johnson, Webb, Furyk, Bubba, Rickie. Freddy will more then likely pick 2 of those guys.

Yep. But it's a tough choice. Johnson & Johnson isn't bad....you've got steady and explosive. But then you're leaving off a recent US Open Champ, Masters Champ and veteran that playing awfully good right now. They're always barking about current form.....

I realize this happens every time but there are some great players that are going to feel slighted....

International team are the Washington Generals of team golf. Even when we had good players we sucked. Might as well put me on the team, i think i'm 42nd in points and i'm not even a pro

Think we have a shot of causing a upset this year. Atleast i'm hoping. Guys like Sterne and Grace are very good players. Add in Adam Scott,Jason Day,Ernie,Louie,Cabera its not a bad team.

I love the Presidents Cup, I like it even more than the Ryder Cup. The Ryder Cup is an over-hyped, too serious for my liking competition. The Presidents Cup is more casual, laid back, which I like. It's a fun event.

Here are the standings on the U.S. side:
1 Tiger Woods 21,537,771
2 Brandt Snedeker 14,998,127
3 Phil Mickelson 14,344,474
4 Matt Kuchar 14,111,215
5 Keegan Bradley 10,394,284
6 Jason Dufner 10,342,372
7 Bill Haas 10,122,042
8 Hunter Mahan 9,595,188
9 Steve Stricker 8,703,084
10 Zach Johnson 8,691,862
11 Dustin Johnson 8,681,908
12 Webb Simpson 8,640,436
13 Jim Furyk 8,043,663
14 Bubba Watson 7,816,908

Assuming the current top 10 make it, my two captains picks would be Dustin Johnson and Jim Furyk.
Some possible pairings: Woods/Stricker, Mickelson/Bradley, Kuchar/Dufner, Snedeker/Z. Johnson, Haas/Furyk, Mahan/D. Johnson

I would go with Horschel and Spieth. The future is now.

ABSOLUTELY!

Kinda getting sick of Stricker and Furyk as captains picks. Strick backed off his schedule for a reason and Furyk hasn't been Furyk for about 3 years. Spieth is a beast and I'd love to see a Woods/Horschel paring.

Would like to think you are right but our Presidents Cup team will look like it does everytime, a couple of world class players, a few who are good/great on their day and a couple of Australians/Sth Africans who aren't up to it. Guys like Cabrera and Oost. are great players but don't turn up all the time. If we couldnt get up at Royal Melbourne where the conditions are suited I cant see much of a chance in the US.

The US blooding players for the Ryder Cup diminishes the Presidents Cup, that said, I would use it for exactly that. Pick Speith and Horschel, Furyk and Stricker have had their time.

Fury, Sticker and Watson?? Anybody recall they went 0-3 in singles last day of Ryder Cup. Jordan Spieth is playing well. Build for future like the Euros do.
Plus, Spieth has a strong match play record. 2 U.S. Jr. Am wins, Walker Cup, NCAA Finals, etc.

No way he is not a Captain's pick.

Presidents Cup Yawn.
It's closer to the Tavistock Cup than it is to the Ryder Cup. I still watch though. It feels like a 'beer' game. Losing group on each hole should chug a beer
Sadly, I get the same feeling regarding this event. Love the format but whereas I wouldn't miss a moment of the Ryder Cup, this is just sort of... there.

Horschel- time to build for the future. Use the PC as a stepping stone for the RC.
Yes, and Speith really need to get the young guys in there to get them ready for the RC. We all saw how well Sricker and Furyk worked out. Need some more youth in there
