^^^ This, above all, is golden rule number 1. Lifes too short to be taken seriously. *especially this thread* Rule #2 is, don't talk about someone online when you couldn't/wouldn't say it to their face.

Not that this thread is about bashing people, it's about the abundant absurdidity of some of the things you see on the internet, this forum, and imagination what it would be like when meeting them. Think about it like "Kids say the darndest things." But, with adults. "Water cooler talk" Etc...

I also have a huuuge understanding that somtimes, what I say seem a bit weird or even unbelievable to someone else. I'm OK with that. Why? I have nothing to prove if I'm right OR wrong.

I'm mortified, that at least one regular poster in the thread, is someone I would consider a friend ... and there are 4 or 5 others, who I always thought were intelligent, thoughtful posters.

Do people really have a "blocked" list? What does it do, prevent you from seeing anything that people on here post? Say this out loud to yourself and see how silly it sounds:

"I get so offended by people that I don't know on an internet golf forum, that I added them to a block list."

This is what I have taken out of this thread. I think I have even been called out in the thread and I just go with it. Its what me and my buddies do all the time. We bust each others chops, laugh about it, and go have a beer. People nowadays just take things way to seriously. Just learn to laugh at yourself a little.

Some threads could be downright boring, depending on who you 'block'. The differing opinions and personalities make these Forums an enjoyable/engaging place to spend time. Also, how do you maintain a sense of continuity?

[/quote]There are some people that post crap so ostentatious that you just don't really care what they say from this point forward.

Think about it like a party. Someone is talking your ear off about stuff and you come to realize you have zero interest in what they have to say. So you excuse yourself to "go over there." 2 minutes later, they're back, talking your ear off again. You excuse yourself and walk to another room and a good friend that just arrived wants to talk to you about something and that 'someone' as before appears trying to get a word in edgewise in the conversation.

On the internet, you can't move to another room to continue the conversation. But you can block them out.
