Question for acushnet Bullseye/ Scotty Cameron Bullseye users

I have always had a fondness for the bullseye, even though I have tended to game MOI mallets.

 

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the flange vs standard blade style. Specifically, do the acushnet/titleist/scotty flange variants offer more MOI for mishits. My only concern is with longer lag putts falling short, due to less then perfect contact. I know scotty makes the american classic that I think has tungsten weights and a mini cavity back, as well as everything in between.

I have two ancient brass Bullseye putters that I use. The one I use the most I extended the shaft a couple inches to about 36". They're very good putters, but I found I putt best if I keep my hands ahead of the blade a few inches. Gives a more natural swing. My buddy has a flanged model that I've tried on occasion. It is a little heavier, but I see no real improvement over the blade.

I putt very short putts opposite hand, so the blade works better for me. I've tried many different putters over the years. The latest was a "Yes Natalie". New putters seem to always putt better, then go sour. I always go back to the Bullseye.

i still have a laflange from the 80's... used it off & on until last year. when i am on, that putter is excellent... when i am off, a 5' putt can go 6" off line... or thats how it feels.

it will want to twist, and it has a full toe hang, which to me feels more susceptible to pulls & pushes with the clubpath, not just a potential twisting issue with the face.

i love the feel of her, but its ingrained after so many years. when i am on, she is a laser on short putts & i lag her great. when my feel or confidence is off, it is embarrassing.

been on the hunt for center shafted putter to replace this year... have two, looking for number 3... same idea as you, a friendlier version. no idea on the others you mentioned tho.

I have an fairly uncommon lefty Acushnet Bullseye Flange putter as well as a couple of the regular non-flange ones. There probably is a tiny bit higher MoI to the flange one but not enough that I can tell any difference at all in forgiveness. Just like the regular Bullseye, if you catch one at all toward the heel or toe you will not put a good roll and proper speed on the putt. The flange makes it feel (to me) just a smidge more solid but I can't detect any difference in results.
