Whats the consensus on these irons. Was in my local shop yesterday and tried em out(indoor launch monitor), and liked them. Wasnt able to order a set though since the rep said they might be discontinuing them? Tried with the c-tapers X and 2*up +1/2" which is what Im looking for. I hit the ball high with a higher than average swing speed. Any Adams Pros play them?

They are probably my favorite retail iron... had I not picked up the Wishon's I'm playing, they would be in my bag.

They are a very forgiving Forged Iron. I love the look of mine and the stock C taper shafts is a plus. I have nothing bad to say about them. If you can get them at a good deal they are well worth the money.

I love my CMB's. Great feeling easy to shape shot's especially in the long iron's which I have at +1/2. I tested alotta brand's over a year before I settled on these. I split my set CMB / MB2's. The MB2's ADAM's won't be making that model any longer. As far I I know most suppliers i.e. Dick's, golf warehouse etc. still have a supply of standard L L L clubs. Badd's, Overton, Garrigus and my favorite Watson. These are quality irons well worth your game.

So I take it they are discontinueing them? bummer. I'd really like to order a set customized to my specs, and dont really want to buy used unless its too good to pass up and fit me.

And I didnt know Garrigus played them, thought he played 95% TM even though he's an adams staffer.... He play the c-tapers in em?

I've been playing CMB's since June and couldn't be happier. Workable, soft, forgiving, consistent distances, great sticks.

I will probably end up with a set of Adams MB2's as well....they are just so cool looking with the rusty look.

You wont find a negative CMB thread on here...

You are right in that they tend to go a little higher than what I was used to but again, not in a bad way. If Im 220 out there is no hesitation to blast a 4 iron in there and expect it to drop on a dime. I found that the KBS shafts went really high so I went with DG shafts. If you are a high ball hitter you might want to go with the X100s. But I have read others that didnt think the KBS shafts hit it higher, just my opinion.

If your looking for a good traditional forged cavity back players iron you wont find better than these. You may find others you like "as much" (AP2, Miz MPs, etc...) but not better. I will say if you prefer the blade/muscle back in shorter irons the 8,9,PW could potentially be a little bulky but I have found that they perform just as well as a blade style out of rough, knock downs, etc...Just buy em and join the club

The CMB's are great! looks wise, they have a blade look but are very forgiving. I did't like the Kbs shafts (couldn't stand the feel of them). X100's suit them very well. Can't go wrong putting the CMB's in the bag

When I was demoing irons last year, the CMB's were only slightly beat out by my current MP-69's. CMB's are excellent irons, can't go wrong- I am curious to hit the new offering from Adams, the XTD irons. Rumour has it they have improved on the CMB's!

I'm in a tough position. Really like the CMB's....but also love the new Mizuno's. I want to build a combo set but its kind of tough with Adams, especially since I can't even order them anymore, another reason why I've been looking at Mizuno. One thing I always have a problem with is the bulkyness and sometimes even offset the shorter irons have in any brand CB's, just like brockgolf44 mentioned. Really like what 2putttom has going on there...
Thank you for the compliment. I REALLY love what I have going on but it came at a cost $$$$. I shopped around and tried different clubs over a year. Mizuno MP 59's,64's 69's, Callaway X forged, Cobra Amp Pro, Bridgestone j33 b's. Taylormade TP MB,, Cleveland 588's, Titleist 712 MB, Wilson Fg 51's A lot of clubs and I settled on ADAMS because of the quality workmanship in components, fit and finish, look at address, feel throughout the swing. results on impact both visually and mechanically. I was looking for a set of clubs that I could have a relationship with. Now don't get me wrong. I tested a lot of different clubs and all were fantastic there are subtle difference in each design and engineering of iron models. The long irons in the MB2's are beautiful and feel like holding a paint brush. My release on long irons is a little late as apposed to my mid and short irons. Being true blades that left me short and often left of my target line. I was introduced to the CMB line of irons while on a practice range in Virginia. OMG! I couldn't miss my mark if I had my eye's closed. And they felt almost as smooth and responsive as my MB2's.(more forgiving) I thought now what? It would be great to have both but; Adams doesn't offer a combo set. I sat there in the lounge at the golf course contemplating what to do then it hit me :o ...have another beer. The assistant pro at the club pulled up a chair next to me and we started a conversation about my predicament. Well theres nothing for it I was going to have to buy both sets. MB2's and CMB's and to make matters worse Steve tells me that he knows ADAMS made 500 sets in polished nickel chrome..oh joy :yahoo: . long & short, he called me two months later saying he located a set of polished nickel chrome MB2's and asked if I wanted them..OH YA. $799.00 plus shipping. The good news was CMB's were only $595.00. :good: I split the set after I had them re-shafted. Damn they move the ball and eye's of admirers. someone offered me $800.00 last month for them.

Well that makes yours all the more desirable then...I thought you had some frankenstiened combo set (nothing wrong with that) going on, and STILL I was jealous. If I could build a set (affordable) I would. But finding a set to match the CMB's is going to be even more difficult, that, and their both discontinued....

Slightly bulky...yes. If your accustomed to a blade in shorter irons. Offset...no, not at all. In fact thats what I like best about this set is that the OS is so minimal and you can hardly even notice in the 4 iron. I have always thought the other Adams players irons had too much progressive offset and other similar sets like AP2s as well. If you can find some MB2S by all means grab them but you wont be disappointedin performance of shorter CMB irons

I don't consider the CMB's bulky...they are more of a mid-size head...but the performance of the short irons is outstanding, which I know you've experienced as well. IMO, their performance more than makes up for a longer mid-size head than a traditional blade.
