10.8 handicap with a low round of 76. Just recently had 5 birdies (career record for me). A 2 footer, a 6 footer and 3 crazy 20+ footers. I was in the twilight zone when those long ones started falling. And made a 25 footer for par out of the bunker. It was a super lucky putting day. Shot 80..i know, i know...that is horrible considering that i had 5 visits to the Bird Sanctuary.

Currently 11. 8 was probably my best handicap when I was younger and played more.
Best 9 was a -1 back 9 on my home course when I was probably a 10-12 handicap. Shot 44-35 that day LOL
Best 18 was maybe a 73 or 74 when I was around an 8-9 handicap on a course that was a par 71, but I would consider it more of a par 69. (Very short par 5s)
Best 18 on a course I consider legit is probably a 76 when I was an 8 handicap or so.

What is your handicap and what is your career low round? Also, how many strokes has your handicap varied over the course of a year from time to time? Example, if you are a 12 have you ever been a 9 or a 15?

What is your best through 9 holes?

There seems to be a debate on whether or not a 12 handicap could have been possibly +1 through 13 holes in a club tournament. Some guys do not think it is possible. I happen to believe it is possible.

Interested to see the results. Thanks
Its possible, as anything is; just not probable. If someone was a +1, its not likely he'll raise to 12 or higher. I know some good golfers that were better than scratch or scratch, but, as they aged and dealt with physical conditions or surgery's, their indexes climbed, but not one became double digit. If someone has the mindset and ability to reach better than scratch, even though conditions move them to - indexes, their mindset will, more than likely, keep them in single digit. My 2cents.

Lowest handicap: 1.9
Current handicap: 4.7
Career low round 18: 68
Career low for 9 holes: 32

I float between 2-6 depending on how much I play / practice. I'm certainly capable of a mid 80s round on a bad day. That said, I can make some birdies, too. Many of the courses in the area (including my home course) are a little short for me. Because I get in the skins games, I'll play from the white tees which are about 64-6500 yards. My last 3 rounds were 68, 71, 71, so it'd be fair to say my handicap is trending way down.

I don't keep a handicap.

Low 9 was 3 under 32 (par 35) and low 18 was 2 over 72 (par 70).

I haven't broke 80 in quite some time though, and am shooting regularly high 80s. Game has gone straight to Hell for some reason in the last couple years.

If I had to guess a handicap ATM it would probably be around 14 or something.

Currently a 4 hdcp but have varied from 1-9 over the last 10 years. Work, school and other distractions have caused my play to suffer at times. When I was a 5hcp, I shot -6 on 9 holes. (2 eagles, 3 birdies and a bogey) Best i've shot for 18 was -4 and that was with 7 birdies, a double and a bogey. As for lowest score, not to par, I shot 61 on a course that was a par 62 lol I can absolutely see a 0-5 hdcp getting hot and shooting several under. As for a 20+ hdcp shooting low 70's, I find that hard to believe. We have a net championship at my course and the winner is usually a 8-12 hdcp player that shoots a couple rounds in the lower and mid 70's. Some of these players are known sandbaggers and tend to not report their low rounds so, their handicap may be lower than what they played at.

Currently a 5 up one this year (just not playing enough) have been as low as a 0 and as high as an 8 (injury season). Best round is a couple of 67s shot on different courses, best 9 hole score was a 30 (par 35). If you do the math a 20 can better their score by 10 much easier than a 12, seen it first hand.

According to GHIN, I'm a 0.2 as of now. My lowest round is a 64, while my lowest tournament round is a 66. Picked up the game at the age of 12, and am now 22. I am currently working on my bookwork to become a PGA professional, while working at my local Golf Galaxy and giving lessons to members at the club I belong to.

As I like to say, there is always room for improvement!

I've finally got my single handicap back. Been 10 years and I'm only just single, but still. 9.6 does the trick and I'm trending down towards 8-ish.

I've posted here before, all time low handicap was 6-7 range.
Lowest round -2 (69) just a few weeks ago on a relatively easy course. (CR 69.4)

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.

I don't have an official handicap...but I'd say it's around a 4-5. My career low in relation to par is even. I've broke par for 9 holes dozens and dozens of times but I can never put two good nines together. Just a few weeks ago I was -3 through 15 and finished with 3 straight bogies. :swoon:

Index: 7.4
Career Low: 74 (2 over)
Low nine: 34 (1 under)

Have shot 75 more times than I can remember, but the 74 only once, about six weeks ago. Was a 4.5 as recently as three years ago, but then came the kids, and there went my practice time. Try to play at least 9 holes a week, but can't always. Will probably join my neighborhood club next year, so looking forward to at least getting to work on my game a bit more.

I began my golf career at age 44. I am now 56. Never long off the tee or a great ball striker, I, nonetheless, finally got my handicap down to 11.1 this summer. On August 22nd, I broke 80 for the first time with a 77! Best round of my life (except for the Father/Son tournament at our club several years ago during which my daughter[only girl in the tournament] and I beat 16 teams to place second). Fortunately, I was playing with my usual group, so I had them sign the card. Ridiculous, I guess but, I was proud of that accomplishment.

Curious of the range or spread of high and low scores in your handicap. I'm only talking about scores actually counted in your current index. Don't really care about your career low for this thread. Just the 20 scores in your current handicap lookup.

My current index is a 7.7 the high score is a 98 and the low score is a 74.

Current index: 2.4
Low: 70 (-2.4 differential)
High: 84: 9.6 differential

Looking at score doesn't tell you much. The next low differential is 1.6 which is a 75 at my home course, but my next low score is a 71, which was a 1.9 differential. Home course is 4 shots harder!

ButchE, it's really just simple arithmetic.

Of my last 20 scores, my current low is a 70 (-2.7 differential), and my high is a 76 (4.1 differential)

My current index is +0.8

Of my 10 scores (out of the last 20) that "count" for handicap purposes this month, my low is the same 70 and my high is a 74 (0.2 differential).

I always figure more info is better when it comes to golf--especially when it comes to statistics.

You were very clear, though. I should have read the bold and taken that as: "I am serious and precise about this request, and anyone who gives more or less info than I have requested will be ridiculed!" LOL

Wait a moment! In re-reading your post, you actually were not precise at all!!

You said: "the 20 scores actually counted in your index"

The problem with that statement is that there are never 20 scores "counted" in your index, there are only 10 (of the last 20) that are used to form your index. The other 10 are completely thrown out and not "counted" at all.

Therefore: I win. You lose. ;-)
