Colovista Golf Club

Anybody played Colovista Golf Club since it re-opened in August? I am heading out there Saturday and was wondering what the conditions may be like, fairway conditions, green speed, etc..

I played there about a month ago. Greens were in great condition and the rest of the course was in decent shape considering they just reopened. Not a huge fan of the front 9 but the back 9 has several great holes.

It is no where near the condition it used to be in. Having said that, you can get on for under $20 using golfnow and it is worth giving it a shot.

I played there yesterday and this was exactly what I thought as well. Only negatives for me are that none of my iPhone apps had the course, so no GPS yardage or digital scorecard, and there were a few yardage markers that must have been left over from before, noticed some were off by as many as 25 yards, then I'd see the correct marker after I had already hit. This happened twice if I remember correctly.

The greens were way faster than I am used to but I still had a great time. Thinking about heading back out there this week since its so much cheaper than anything else that nice in South Austin.

Not sure since I never played it before it closed, but I do not believe they changed it too dramatically. Playing there tomorrow at 10:16 for $9, pm me if anyone is interested in joining at that rate. Would love to meet some local WRX'ers.

It was good man, to me it's the best deal in the area by far. I've been playing there at least once a week since October since I get on there so cheap. The greens are really fast and in great shape. It was pretty windy today but didn't affect my scoring -- I was just as bad as usual lol. It's never busy out there and I usually play by myself if I don't bring anyone with me.

I live 5 mins from Clay/Kizer and I'd rather drive to Bastrop to play there if that tells you anything.

How are the course conditions at ColoVista this year? Is it worth a road trip from DFW? idealgolfer has $59 stay & play right now...

It's been a couple of months since I played it, but everything that has been said before still holds true. Best deal in the Austin area. The greens are fast and the fairways still need a little help, you can't beat the price. Comparing the front nine to the back nine, it's like playing two different courses. Open on the front and a bunch of trees in the back. Number 16 (I think), par 3 140 yards with a 60 foot drop is amazing. Love the views from the tee box.
