Longdrivers....What's your golf driver shaft?

Curious to see what shafts work well for others that can handle faster swing speeds. Having trouble keeping the spin and launch down with my current driver. 910 d3 7.5* PX8a4 and swinging about mid to upper 120's.......and LD swing getting faster every year...

I think you will find a lot of LD guys will use a LD shaft cut down for a play driver or buy an X flex driver and take another 1-2" from the tip depending on how they have their driver set up. I'd also say most LD guys still use a 8.5* or lower in their driver...not all but majority I feel do

As Jason said you can tip it but keep in mind that the Project X shafts also aren't the lowest spinning shafts out there. Take a look at this graph that Titleist puts out for shaft launch and spin. It's a good point of reference if you are looking for a lower spinning shaft. But as Jason said at your current swing speed you are most likely going to have to tip the hell out of just about anything.

I know a handful of Krank Golf Staffers I see with Long Drive shafts they make cut to 46 inches and X flex or XX flex. Pretty unique but they hold strong and can work them better.

That head spins more than others too. U will see a drop in spin with the 913. I played that same head and loft and at 6.75 it still got up there. I went to the 913d2 7.5 and actually had to move to an 8.5 head but play it at 7.75...i play the tour spec 8.2x and it is fantastic for me.

THAT, sounds like a sweet setup. You put the 8.2 straight in?

what does the tipping mean? What does it do and what are the parameters?

tipping is cutting the shaft shorter from the tip section which can with some shafts stiffen the overall flex of the shaft.

Ive ordered the Proforce Tour V2 in 96, I will tip it half an inch to an inch to play it at XX. Reason for that is I want the CPM to be over 300 and I will probably play it longer than standard.

Essentially your hardstepping the shaft.( I think a general rule of .5" is about a flex in fcm chart stronger but that can surely differ)
Making it an increment of stiffness stronger. You have to check the cutting charts of shafts however, wether it can be done or not.
For my shaft can be used in woods also. They say tip it 1 - 2 inches, so ill be fine and will get a stronger flex, I suppose, thats at least my understanding.

go to the Krank web site the have the wire series of shafts from 1x to 3x stiffness they will hook you up and take care of you different weights,lengths,www.Krankgolf.com look under shafts the even have golf tour shafts for higher swing speeds...you won't be disappointed !!!
