Adams CB2 or Taylor Made MC

Hi Everyone - I know these sets aren't the latest and greatest, but I'm looking for another set of irons while not spending a lot.

 

I back and forth between a 2 and 5 handicap, hit my 8 iron 160 using Titleist 690cb S300. I hit the ball pretty high, but sometimes get too steep and will struggle w the 4-6 irons.

 

I have read some great reviews on both of these irons, but wanted to see if anyone had compared both of them side by side, or if there is any reason to buy one over the other (besides just looks).

I have the TP CB, MC and MB and mix them up a bit in the bag for a combo set. MB's stay in 7,8,9 and then switch between 4,5,6 CB or MC, CB's are in now as they are a little easier to hit in the wet conditions. MC's feel a tad heavier. Saying that i am looking to replace 4.5.6 with either speedblades or Rbladez tours.. picked up a 3i Rbladez tour and it feels easier to hit than the MC or CB

sorry about that - He's buying a 4th set of TM.

I changed from AP1 710 to adams cb3 couple of months ago.

adams clubs are everything I was hoping they would be.

Almost bought the CB2 when I purchased the AP1 but a touch too much club for me at that time.
The Adams clubs are awesome value and shafts are top notch.

Hmm adding up too many sets there mate... its only 2... CB was a full set , MC and MB were a combo set 3i cost me $10 as a single club, oh and I only bought the CB's, the other set were free!!

Seems like you have bought 2 sets too.. go figure!!

Oh and I tried the Adams but the TM's felt better for me

I had the MC's and the CB2's, and I liked the CB2's better. I thought they had a better look and were pretty forgiving for their size.

Thanks for the replies so far. Does anyone know how they compare for sole width. I haven't had the chance to hit the CB2, so I want to make sure that they aren't too big.

Cb2 are perfect irons, soles are a little bigger than blades, with a great top line. The only recommadation I suggest is to get a shaft that fits you. The kbs your 90's are a little too soft. Especially if you been playing s300.

Scored a great deal on a set of CB2's. Wanted to practice some club building techniques with them and they quickly kicked my new G25's out of the bag. They are forgiving, workable, and aesthetically pleasing (the black nickel finish will wear - but that's to be expected). I know wide width soles (as a former SGI club owner) and the CB2's do not fit into that category. Relatively thin top-line as well. Can't comment on the MC's as I've never gamed them.

I've got nothing but great things to say about the Adams CB2's. I have played them for the last three seasons and will probably go one more year with them.

Going to these irons was a big step for me after playing primarily McGregor MT, and Titleist Tour Model forged blades for the past 30 years. The great thing about the CB2's are they fit into so many player categories.
For myself as a scratch player nearing the age of 50 but still competing against the 20-somethings in US Open qualifiers and other events I was looking for something that would give me a distance boost and still be somewhat playable. The Adams CB2's fit the bill perfectly for me and I instantly gained a full club in distance while still being able to move the ball left or right.

Adams CB2 irons fit any player from +3 to 30 handicap but as always it comes down to what tests and feels best for you and your game!

Cb2s no doubt! Xbest irons I've played in last 6 yrs period super long launch high workable and very forgiving! Can't go wrong! Only issue I had ever was occasional flyers hot off face that would randomly go 10-15 yds farther than normal but I went from a 6 to scratch with these when they launched still regret selling mine
