csiachos
I am a 1 hdcp with a 105-108 ss. Having driver issues with the Nike Vr Tour. Playing a Fubuki Alpha 73S tipped at 1". Height of drives are fine, but shaft feels a little whippy. Spin is averaging 3000-3300. I have a descending angle of attack with the driver of 1-2 degrees. Was wondering if a whiteboard 73x would be too much shaft for me?Have never hit a whiteboard but have played Blueboard 83s in a fairway wood that shaft was too whippy also. Just looking for tighter dispersion and lower spin. I love the feel of the Fubuki Alpha, just not the numbers. I also have an Alpha in 73x but think I might try the Whiteboard 73x first. KPH808
I think you'd be able to handle the WB 73x. The WB is a great shaft and dispersion and spin should be better with the x flex with your swing speed. dlefty
You ask is it "too much shaft for you" - you will only get that answer from a trained fitter who knows the shaft and can see your swing first hand, or by trying it out. If it feels right to you, you will stay in tempo and on plane in your golf swing on a regular basis, if it is too much shaft, you will be inconsistent with your swing, maybe a little quick, maybe over the top, maybe steep, center face contact, etc.....if those problems arise on a regular basis, then yes, too much shaft, if you swing well with it most of time with solid contact, then no, it isn't too much. Often times it is more a loading feel question, than a too much shaft question.
csiachos
I make center contact most of the time, smash factor was about 1.49-151 last time on track man. Of course I make bad swings like everyone. Basically, I am wondering if a person averaging 105-108 can manage an x flex whiteboard.?

If you have a good swing with at least decent speed, you can handle most anything. It sounds like you have both. [/quote] First, it was a shaft that TW played that drove people to want it. Second, it was amazingly overpriced, and that made people want it more. Third, it actually performed as advertised with good feel. At the time it came out, there weren't many low launch/low spin shafts that felt good, but (provided you could manage it) the Whiteboard was the real deal. TigerStrong
That should be a good fit along with the Blueboard in X flex...Blue will go slightly higher which would be good when the spin goes down. LCP
Both the Whiteboard and the D+ are high kick point shafts. They're low launching and not whippy at all. Totally different feel than a Fubuki. At 105-108 you might be fine with stiff. I'm about 110-115 and just now changed from the S flex to X flex in the D+ 72. There's only a little difference between them, but I think dispersion suffered with the S flex, and playing partners would comment on the visible shaft flex in my swing. Contrast that with the Fubuki in my hybrid and the Kuro Kage in my 3 wood. The high launching Fubuki exhibited a huge difference when I went from S flex to X flex, and the mid-launching Kuro Kage showed a moderate difference when I went from S flex to X flex.
