I know it won't make the biggest splash of 2014 but so far we have:

 

2 Victories on

1 Day on

2 Continents with

1 VERY SPECIAL DRIVER!

 

The Nike Covert Tour 2.0 Driver. .....put in play by staffers Rory Mcilroy and Charl Schwartzel with immediate success. ....neither former major winner had victory in the calendar year of 2013 but finished strong and looked to be primed for a return to form.

 

Both players also have made the shaft adjustment from Fujikura Rombax to variant of Mitsubishi.

 

These Players are both long but seem to be more confident with the CT2 and I for one can't wait to swing this bat!

Is it just me or does it look like that driver is last year's performance rebadged?

This is a weird thread. Do you work for nike or something? I mean, two great players won golf tournaments, I really don't think the driver they used had a whole lot to do with it.

Agreed. Clubs do not make that much of a difference.

@thrill and mack.......last time I check, we are on a great all-inclusive Golfing Site! This is to include someone who is giddy to see success with ANY particular club .....between this driver, the bio cell plus and BB line I'm ready for 2014.....because you don't share the same excitement doesn't mean there is a need to poo poo or be negative Neil....

Regardless of your thoughts , finding comfort and reliability in golf equipment is a major reason we visit this site.

This thread has nothing to do with being excited over a club, you asserted that the reason these two players won this week is because of the driver they were playing. What we are saying is that at best it's an extremely loose connection and more likely to be completely irrelevant.

If you want to post your excitement you should do that in the thread in the equipment section dedicated to this club where your comments belong. Spamming the forum with off the wall threads isn't the kind of thing too many people are going to be interested in.

I took it that the OP just wanted to pass on some information. When the 714 Ap2's won, people were on here saying the same thing. The same for the S55 's. That didn't make me go out and buy them.

Also, Roy was hitting some great drives. I could tell a huge difference from earlier this year. Hitting from a fairway to the green IS better. Add that he was consistently longer than Adam has to help.

Let's just all relax a little and take it for what it is worth. The last thing we need to do is make someone question if he or she should share a thought on here.

I agree, especially considering how erratic Rory was off the tee with the Driver. Snap hooked one into the trees followed by several pushes right.
