Thanks, Jose. The AW in the CB is a great looking club. Wasn't sure I would use it. But, I think it looks better than the 52* ATV at address. It doesn't have to wide sole of the ATV so we will see.

But, I like the options.

Made it to 50* in Indy today. Overcast and about 15-20mph winds but, by this time tomorrow we will probably have 4-6 inches of snow.

Still I got out the the range for a bucket of balls. Really couldn't wait any longer to hit the TP CB's! Started with the 8 iron and worked up from there. Cold and strong crosswind was better than nothing. Probably ditching the 4 iron for the 5 hybrid. I just hit the hybrid really well. The AW is a big hit. It was really easy to hit and once I can get on grass I will make my decision. I have picked up a Speeder 7.3 xstiff 3 wood shaft and it is in the 3HL which is still set the higher notch (18.5*). Felt pretty good and it has a chance replace the Stage 2 3HL. I hope testing can resume soon!

Snow and ice moved in for Sunday. Had to practice inside. The Tour Preferred X was the ball that was in the den caddies at The Kingdom.

I'm a little late to the party. Sounds like everyone had a great time and left with some great clubs.

I was wonder if TM ever addressed the "17 degrees and 1,700 RPMs" and how if at all, is that number effected by hitting into the wind?

They did but they didn't talk about environmental factors. Before I got fit my launch angle was about 11* and about 2800 rpm of spin. After they fit me my launch angle was 14.5* of launch with 2059 rpm of spin. Ball speed went from 154 to 162. They understand 17/17 is hard to obtain but they try and want all golfers to get as close as possible. Lofting up with sldr proves that you can gain distance by lofting up and reduce overall spin. Some guys left with 12* drivers and would have left with a 14* driver had they had one available.

I'm finally gonna get to the kingdom at Reynolds here in 2 weeks to get fitted for driver, FW & hybrid. I'm soo pumped I can't wait!! I've been looking at going with the Jetspeed driver w/ either speeder 7.3 TS or the new 757 ad the SLDR 3hl with the speeder 8.3 TS, but that might all be out the window after I have the fitting.

I am launching mine between 14-15° around 2400 and the wind does not touch it. I have not played on a super gusty day yet, but into the wind or side winds (10-15 Mph) have had zero to no effect. I was extremely skeptical as I am used to launching it around 12°. Even the tour fitter at the Kingdom told me that the 17/1700 is an admiration and there will not be a lot if any guys in tour anywhere near that. I think the 17/1700 is a sales move, but higher, faster with less spin does work.

Thanks for the info guys. I think your numbers are much more attainable and more than optimal for most. My guess is "17/1700" is more of a marketing idea, looks cool and can sell clubs.

I'm really interested in demoing a SLDR 460 when I can.

Thats the plan. I wish they could just give me different shaft/head combos without me knowing what they are handing me. That way it wouldnt all be in my head which i liked or didnt like. Im sure its going to be an amazing experience!

Next time I go get fit, this is exactly what I want to do as well. I don't want to give any baseline and try and ignore what they're giving me, though it'll be tough since most of us already know what everything looks like.

However, if they have nothing to go off of, I don't know how good of a fitting that would turn into. Hopefully it wouldn't matter one bit.

I thought they were going to do that to us but they had us hit the driver we were gaming to start the fitting. They looked at the numbers we were getting form our current gamer and set out to better the numbers as far as spin, ball speed and distance. To sum it all up I went from averaging 285 total yards to 305 average with my longest being 312. So you may want to hit your current gamer so you can set somewhat of a baseline then go from there. I didn't ask nor look at the shafts they provided me. I just swung until they had me get back on the launch monitor when they thought based on ball flight that they had the right combo. I was surprised to see at the end that I went from an 8.5* driver to a 10.5* and they fit me into an x flex shaft while my original driver was a stiff flex. They also fit me for a 70 gram shaft vice the 60 gram shaft that I was used to. So as mentioned go with an open mind and be ready for change. lol

When we went to Carlsbad, this "Loft up" was just getting started. Great results for TM and Ghost/Spider putters to recently. The Tour Preferred irons have been widely received and the new Tour Preferred and Tour Preferred X golf balls have quickly move up in play, making TM second only to Titleist this week in the ball category.

I don't think the Valspar Championship is much to brag about. No Tiger, No Phil, No Rory... With that said, when my Achilles tendon heals in a few months I really what to give the SLDR driver a go.

I think sticking with the Tour Preferred names will be HUGE in their gun at #2 and eventually maybe #1. They have had a top quality ball for awhile now, but the name changes and name choices really set them back IMO. The Tour Preferred and X are great names and I think they have a real winner here.

Not much to brag about in terms of the top tier players but this is the pga tour and the numbers don't lie. For TM or any other company to claim being number 1 for any type of equipment being used says a lot. Titleist has had a firm grip on ball use. Tour preferred balls are awesome. I was an avid user of the pro v1 but have since switched to the tour preferred. Plays better in the wind and is a great off long iron shots. Awesome trajectory. Can't wait to try the wedges out.

Jose, you playing Tour Preferred or Tour Preferred X? I am stuck on the X since Carlsbad and never tried the Tour Preferred. But I will say the TM balls have been really good in the wind since LDS dimples were added years ago.

I am loving the X right now, almost jarred one on a 150 yard par 3 by spinning it back 4-5 feet. Stopped about a foot from the hole, damn it!

Ed right now I am playing the X because I still have some left over from the trip. Once they are gone I will be using the Tour Preferred as I need something with a bit more spin as the greens here get harder from the lack of rain but I will have a dozen or tow of the X ball in the closet. Both balls are great and you cant go wrong with either one.

The X, for me, feels so much like the Lethal. I do think the cover is a little better on the X. But not by much.

Normally I play a X but really liked the tour preferred better than the X.
