Cobra wrench alternative?

I have an amp cell I want to pull a shaft from but no wrench. Any alternatives? My TM wrench doesn't fit.

You can go to a home depot or someplace that sells TORX bits, at that point just find the one that fits correctly and the accompaning wrench ratchet ect. As far as torque spec's I'm not sure how you'd detrime that short of getting an actual torque wrench on it.

When I had an s3, I think it was a T20 bit that I used to change the position. I'm not sure whether on not they still use that size in their adapters though.

Strange. I had no problem changing the weights around in my old R7 425 with the Cobra wrench from my AMP 3W. As far as i can tell, the older TM wrench and the Cobra wrench are interchangeable.

The TM wrenches, both the yellow and white, are slightly larger than the Cobra. Try using either of the TM wrenches to unscrew a Cobra head and you will see what I mean. Not recommended unless you want stripped screws.

You can get something like this at just about any auto parts or hardware store. The torque will not be set though.

T15 torx bit or screwdriver

The issue is not removing the screw. The issue is to what pressure is it torqued to when installing (changing) it. For this reason alone, one needs the manufacturer's tool.

I'm not sure I agree. The manufacturer' stool isn't a torque wrench so it doesn't know how much pressure is applied. Is it more the screw that controls how much torque pressure can be applied?

It's the wrench that clicks when the desired amount of torque is applied to the screw. So as said before, the issue with using just a regular screw is over torquing it. I picked up a cobra tool on ebay for $10. It's worth the money to not have to worry about it.

The Cobra wrench is a T20 bit, no other OEM wrenches will work. TM , Calllaway Ping and Nike all use larger T25 boltheads.

You can use a T20 bit with a screwdriver or use a torque wrench. Most every other OEMs wrenches are set at 40 inch pounds, nobody seems to know what the Cobra wrench is set at. Best bet is to just buy the Cobra wrench.

I don't plan to reinstall a shaft so I am not concerned about the torque.

This is incorrect. While you can get it to work [i]carefully[/i], the Cobra wrench is significantly smaller and will eventually strip the head of your TM, Titleist, PING, etc.. club.

S2S, you are the second person to mention this. To the naked eye there doesn't appear to be any difference between the two, but sure enough, the TM wrench won't fit in a Cobra fastener (I checked ). Thanks to all for the heads-up.

I love the debate over whether TM wrenches fit when in my OP I stated mine doesn't fit. LOL
