Those are the X-Forged wedges from a few years ago (2009?), still a popular design on Tour, based on all the WITB pics we've seen here.

Some of these have been speculated and I am sure there is more. You may see some in new gear but most won't be allowed to until Jan 1 after existing contracts expire. These are done deals, hats and shirts have been ordered and are in production for those that need custom and personalization.

*Pat Perez to Callaway
*Harris English to Callaway
*Ernie Els to Adams
*Matteo Mansserro from Titleist to Callaway, he looked at a couple of major OEMs but Callaway offered twice what another (not Achushnet) offered.
*Another Major Winner leaving Callaway for TaylorMade. Not sure if I can make this public at the moment but many can guess this one. He is playing today with the old gear as is everyone here except maybe Perez.

There is a couple more to come, can't comment on yet but I am not aware of any major deals or players. Overall, so far, a relatively quiet year. But there are still some talks going on. But these OEMs have budgets that they are holding to. Only Callaway is spending more. They and Nike are spending more endorsement money against revenue than the others!

Matteo may play better than Fowler but the ROI on Fowler is huge. Look at all the young kids that buy up his stuff. It's unreal. Cobra may not be selling a boat load of clubs but puma sure is cleaning up because of him. Just my honest opinion.

you may be right - as the face of cobra/puma, RF certainly has sold a lot of clothing (bought some myself). though i have no actual information on either deal numbers-wise, i'd think RF was getting paid more than matteo however.

I couldn't agree more. I'd be extremely surprised if the ROI on Fowler didn't far exceed that of Manassero.

Deal. Fwiw I like both players. I like Fowler because he makes golf cool for the younger guys and he genuinely seems to care about his fans and Matteo is a great talent. He doesn't hit it far, he just gets it done with ballstriking and putting.

Clearly they're making a European push. imakveli often talks about the lack of participation/exposure golf gets in Italy. Maybe they're attepmting to figure in somehow by getting Matteo in an "emerging" market (dont forget Pavan is already with Callaway)

Callaway makes those wedges (along with older model irons) with conforming grooves for Tour players.

This is precisely the kind of comment that gets these threads derailed. The signings of Callaway were a huge letdown, but no one in this thread has even mentioned that, so who cares?

As he fills out a bit you can expect to see him contend even more regularly on the biggest of stages. He has a wonderful move, a mature head on his shoulders, and a ton of class.
