TM SLDR 10.5 with Miyazaki B Asha 4 stiff flex?

Anybody try the B.Asha Miyazaki shafts?

Thoughts?

I'm 46.

Driver swing speed in the 101-105 range

0 to +2 index

I hit a low cut off the tee, generally

My spin is usually on the high side.

I'm a big-time "loader" of the shaft

The B.Asha 4 is the stock shaft in the Cleveland Classic XL - the fixed version. Your local shop may have some Clevelands you could hit and that will give you some idea how they play. Also, if you search in the Club building forum there is plenty of great info from players that swing at your speeds.

I played one for awhile in an R11 TP. Did not like it. Think it works well for smooth swinger with moderate to slow tempo. I make an aggressive move to the ball and did not think it fit my swing very well for comparison I am gaming a sLDR TP with Matrix Black Tie which fits me very well

The R11 is a mid-spin driver head and this shaft will not work with that head. This shaft needs a low spinner matched to it.

I have done some research the last couple of days and a very reputable shaft dealer and club-builder helped me answer some questions per this shaft. I just bought the FAST12 LS driver (for $40!), considered to be one of the lowest all-time spinning heads. I have been looking for a shaft to compliment it and this shaft in the 5-Series was one that was recommended for my swing and this head. It will not respond well to a fast tempo... it is supposed to respond to smooth swings. It should produce a mid-to-low spin with a mid to high ball flight... perfect!! I am going to buy the B. Asha in the 5 series (60 grams) and a VTS Silver 6 to test.

What head are you trying to match it too? If it is not a low spinner, then I'm afraid your little cutter will turn into a big cutter. Your specs are right on with mine and I'm hoping a found an inexpensive way too increase distance through reduced spin (though I need some spin). I will report back when I get the B. Asha tested in my experimental driver.
