New i25 irons: which wedges are you getting?

In a couple weeks I'll be going in for an iron fitting and my eyes are set on the i25s. My question to fellow WRXers is what wedges will you be playing? Maintaining a full set through the LW, or perhaps breaking it up with Gorges, etc?

Before they were released I was initially thinking of going 4-UW (shots that I normally play with full swings) then Gorges for the 54 and 58. Now Ping has reworked the wedges to have compact thinner top rails and more narrow soles. The GW/SW/LW hosels are slightly longer which I read gets the CG higher and more forward for lower trajectory and better spin and control. This seems like it may be a good reason to go 4-LW with the i25s, but who knows until you see them in person and try them yourself.

Has anyone else been contemplating this?

I could definitely go 3-s, but will always want a blade-style lob. Mark me down for a tour gorge 58.

Nope..... Once full swings are out the game changes. I'm thinking about i25s, but never even crossed my mind to go past the UW with them. I was messing around with Ping wedges the other day and really liked the TS 58. The grind is similar to the old DSG Cleveland that I love so much. For a SW, my heart says go with an Eye 2 XG 56 but brain says Tour 54 WS. I'd have to hit both and see what the Eye 2 gives me on different swings from intermediate range like 85 and in.

But I've always had issues getting away from cleveland wedges too.

I ordered the 3 through the LW in my I25 set. I did get some custom work done though. Ordered the LW bent 2* weak and basically got a TS grind on it, and the SW was ordered 1* weak and got a front edge grind since I'll use this one for chipping with the ball way in back of my stance. The great thing about Ping WRX department is that if you order a club bent one way or another they'll grind the sole back to what they would normally be stock. I also ordered my 3 iron 2* strong, and 4-6 1* strong. I'm waiting like a kid at christmas time for these things. Hurry up Santa...... or who ever brings them in Feb.

What benefits do you see the Gorge/Cleveland wedges having over the i25s?

Some people like their clubs to be all the same 3-LW or whatever. Nothing wrong with that. Some see wedges as completely separate. Either is good if it works for you. I played Eye2s for so long I'll just never like another wedge(s) I guess. I play I20s. (same principle) Love them, but go 3-LW. Then Eye2XGs 56* and 60*. I also have my old Eye2s and an XG 60 bent to 58*s for when I don't want the 56 and 60. Lately I've been carrying my old BeCus. Love those wedges to death and since I'm not on tour or playing USGA events (LOL) I could care less about some 'rules infraction.' I do agree with one OP. That 58* Gorge TS is a sharp looking/playing wedge. Lots of folks like them.

I've only ordered 3-P because I only play 46, 52, 58, thought about playing the u at 51 and tweaking my 58 to 57 to maintain gaps but was concerned about the resulting 14 degrees of bounce on the u wedge. Spoke to the custom fitter at Ping and he advised at those lofts, and to maintain sensible bounce numbers, I stick with the tour gorge.

The bounce numbers do get quite high (13-14). Is this due to thinner soles?
