If those, or any sort of blade similar to that comes out, I will DEFINITLY buy a set. A full 3-pw set but I will most carry the 7-pw to complimet my Forged Cobra CB"s right now. And if I am playing badly for a while, out come the blades and in go the full set of cb's and if I'm playing amazing, out come the cbs and in a full set of blades. *Drools*

Nice pictures. I had hoped those weren't going to see the light of day. Hideous looking "muscle back" version of the Carbon CBs. Looks like we now have two companys that don't know what a muscle back is. Taylor Made (who will correct that soon) and Cobra. If they come to market count on them being just like the Carbon CBs---Cast 8620 and forged for the tour.

Too bad the originals were scrapped---those were beautiful even if they were retreaded 690s.

Time for ole HW to help.

According to the Cobra Golf Blog, there is no plans to bring them to market. The admin states:

While a couple of our tour players are currently testing the Cobra prototype MB iron, we do not have any immediate/near term plans to launch this product.

We currently offer two products in our line designed for more skilled players; Carbon CB and Forged CB (Villegas, Holmes, and Na). "

I put my SS forged 2-LW back in the bag a month ago. I used Bridgeston CB's for a few months and they are great, but the SS's might be the finest iron i have ever played. If they bring these blades to market, I will likely give them a go, but I seriously doubt the will live up to the SS forged. I hope Cobra proves me wrong.

Great there are no plans to bring that to market. That would be a worse seller than the Carbon CBs, Forged CBs, and SS Forged.

By the way I agree that the SS forged are among the best made, not just by Cobra but against any Forged cavity back including the pinnacle of irons Miura. I have two complete sets with project Xs in them. One beat to heck and the other untouched.

For the other guy that said there were 25 sets made you only missed by 19 the number that were made.

Somebody should ask the blog admin what past Titleist irons these are based on. Odds are that question would join the Tidy Bowl Man.

I think the TaylorMade x300fci irons were one of the best sets ever.

The Miura Japan forged model or the ones forged in Taiwan or Mexico??

Even the ones forged in Japan were not as soft feeling as the original SS Forged. Softer than the Forged CB and Carbon CB absolutely but not the SS Forged.

I had both together with DGS300 at one time. My XFCI were from the TM country manager. He didn't know whether they were Japan or Mexico.

Feel was a bit better with the SS Forged, but what made me keep the SS Forged was the sole grind.

I'm in the process of buying SS Forged back ups because I noticed these are the only irons I have kept at the #1 gamer position for more than 6 months. They are now going on 1.5 years at that spot. There must be something to them.

from my best judgment, the cobra staff blades are either 681's, 680's or 670's, definatly not the 690's, which were by far the most hidious of the blade line by titleist, they were way too long from hosel to toe. most titleist staffers still play the 680's or 670's, which would definatly be the choice of the better players.

The gentleman that corrected the MacGregor story said that last year's blades are remakes of the 690s period. He said enough other stuff that convinced me he was from Cobra. He definitely knows more about Cobra than anyone posting here does.

It looks like Ogilvy has switched to the True Temper Dynamic Gold. It also looks like he has gone to graphite in his 3 wood. What shaft is it?

Can anyone confirm these?

I think Ogilvy is still using the Rifle FCM's that he has used for years. They may look like Dynamic Golds because they also have a step pattern.

Not sure about the 3 wood shaft, never noticed what he was using.
