Ping nFlight Motion...swing analyzer/fitting tool?

Heard them talking about it on the radio and then saw this on twitter. I couldnt find any info on this by searching. I imagine it's similar to the swingbyte and stuff, but will there be any fitting tools incorporated with this? Given they named it nflight, i would imagine so. they said $100 on the radio. sorry if already discussed.

if you look at the iphone in the photo, it has a "recommendation" button. I imagine it's recommending clubs/specs. That'd be pretty cool if done right and works. Since ping does their own shafts i am guessing it would be limited to only ping stuff though.

Take three swings, the software and device will recommend head model, loft, and shaft. After market shafts offered by PING can also be displayed, at least in the latest version that I saw.

Woods only or irons as well?

I would assume swing path information is recorded to a high degree to identify fitting. Does that imply that it also displays swing path information?

For right now it is driver only. But there's no reason to believe why we wouldn't be able to do the rest of the bag as well (iron, wedge, putting). Just gotta figure a few logics out.

I am not familiar with the SkyPro device but I am sure it does extrapolate the club path, however that parameter is not used in the fitting logic within nFlight Motion.

That picture looks 100% like a rebadged SkyPro, all the way down to the contours of the charging case.

They are exactly that, however the fitting logic is completely PING proprietary.

You can measure all the data you'd like, but if you don't know what to do with them they are still as good as nothing.

It's definitely a SkyPro and Gordon from SkyPro mentioned in the thread running about SkyPro, that something like this would be coming along.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but any rumors on if there will be an effort to "iPing" this? I.E. Use it as a fitting tool and a practice tool?

On the SkyPro side they already offer the consumer "practice/swing analysis" things with their own software. So you can go out there right now and purchase a SkyPro and use it to practice with.

The nFlight Motion software as of now is strictly a tool to help accounts conduct fittings and is being packaged together with nFlight Mobile software. As far as I know the current plan is not going to have it be available as a consumer product, just like how the nFlight software is not available to consumers.

Roger. Basically an upgrade to the fitting system, not that that isn't pretty cool in and of itself.

Just to be clear, I wasn't knocking Ping. Far from it. I'm a very happy i20 user through most of my bag. Just making a factual point.
