  1. People keep saying his “game” is boring as a compliment. okay, but are you going to ignore that his personality is also boring? the guy shows zero emotion. HE is boring. He confesses that all he does is enjoy going to Chipotle. stop saying it’s just his game. it’s okay that he is boring. But he is.
  2. you prefer the image of drinking hand sanitizer over 3 pretty Hooter ladies. You do you I guess 🤷‍♂️
  3. I like to think he goes to bed with 3 hooter chicks who have Santa Claus fetishes.
  4. lol sort of - his normal image is fun loving guy who drinks a lot of beer and goes to Hooters. Drinking hand sanitizer and passing out on the couch - not the best look but I guess it's a joke. I just don't think anyone else would agree to be that big of a clown on screen. but maybe Daly just dgaf.
  5. agreed the original is a classic and this new one is a money grab at best.
  6. they didn’t even attempt to make a great sequel here. this wasn’t even a real movie. It was just a montage of cameos. Because we loved the first movie (so many years ago) and because our standard are so low for movies now, we accepted these cameos as a decent offering.
  7. im not an elite player but I do the same.. draw with wedges means shallower angle, lower flight and less spin. I want it to one hop and stop. Not get stuck in the wind and spin off the green. but my “draw” with wedges is dead straight or 2 feet of right to left 😄
  8. in sales or what metric? it being a private company, where do you find the numbers? the fact that a majority stake was worth $200 million does suggest their sales are quite high.
  9. I hope LAB continues to operate the same (with better production capacity) and keep the same standards of balancing, zero torque, etc. It's a little sad to hear, if they don't. I do not believe this was "their peak". Yes the putter won the U.S. Open and I'm sure they have been selling a ton of putters. But are they still anywhere near Odyssey level of sales, for example? I doubt it. And I bet they could get there someday. They are still only at like 20% market penetration at the very most. With more production capacity and bringing the price down slightly they could eventually go mass mass market and become a much bigger brand. This is only the tip of the ice berg. Although personally of course i am fine with them staying small and just being a niche, high end brand also.
  10. lol I guess I refuse to embrace the suck. John Daly is actually more interesting than a lot of the "Tour" players. They could have used him in golf scenes. Or he could have at least just played a fun guy who likes to drink beer and go to Hooters. But a total loser who just lays on the couch and drinks hand sanitizer? why would he agree to that role . .
  11. is it just me or was the character played by John Daly excessively degenerate? Obviously these are public figures/"brands" (Daly, Bryson, Sheffler, Nicklaus, etc) and I'm sure their "people" reviewed the script and negotiated changes if they felt it made their guy look bad... Daly is drinking hand sanitizer and playing an absolute loser when he already has the reputation of being an alcoholic. Am I looking too deeply into it? Does Daly simply not care about his image? I think, even if subconsciously, the image of him drinking hand sanitizer is going to stick in peoples' minds. And it's not a script any self-respecting pro would agree to.
  12. watch the first one please. I am in shock you haven’t seen it… of all people. seems you love golf and to joke around … it’s a good one.
  13. Congratulations! To still have an active and thriving Forum, as we've seen the internet morph into social media, etc. is pretty cool.
  14. Hopefully the existing LAB people retained 51%+ of the company and will use the capital to speed up their production while maintaining the same quality....one can dream..
  15. Scottie's biggest competition is himself. Didn't you hear his recent comments? It sounds like he could announce an early retirement after a couple more majors.
  16. Marketing is not a part of business? You better inform every business school in the world wtf are you talking about?
  17. Look at the PGA Tour creating content for YouTube: Hasn't someone told them it's a big waste of time?
  18. spieth, JT, burns, Xander, Rory, Spaun. Aberg, Hovland, these are all people I find more entertaining than sheffler why? Hard to explain // but they are just not boring af
  19. How quickly we forget — what Sheffler is doing personality wise is not unprecedented:
  20. im not against him. I like him. im saying the more he wins the more everyone will have to accept his “boring” style. not sure what your bad boys reference is. why do you have to go for personal attacks when I said nothing to you?
  21. Tiger had swagger and Scottie doesn’t. The red shirt alone had more charisma than Scottie. I don’t know how many more times this can be said in different ways. But if you know you know. BUT if Scottie keeps winning like this he will get his flowers. And he already is. It wont matter that he is boring. It will become a positive. He’ll be called ice man etc but he needs to at least win the grand slam before he becomes beyond reproach.
  22. Xander has never been #1 in the world. if Xander is #1 for 148 weeks, he will get his own thread, don’t worry. xander has a beautiful swing though. Maybe my favorite swing since prime tiger. And quite similar.
  23. Tiger changed his swing many times prior to Hank Haney… but it was never about aesthetics… it was about performance or injury/physical limitations. for example after the 1997 masters he said this: “One night, a week or so later, after the elation had started to die down, I decided to sit down and watch a tape of the entire tournament. I was by myself, so I was really able to concentrate on critiquing my full swing to see if there was some flaw I might be able to work on. I didn’t see one flaw. I saw about 10.” His explanation was simple but profound: “I needed to tighten my swing if I was going to have a chance of winning them [other majors]. Timing took me a long way at Augusta, but I couldn’t rely on such timing week in and week out.” But every version of Tigers swing “looked” better than Scottie’s in my opinion. im just saying if we have to watch a guy hit 20-30 shots on TV, ill take the prettier looking swing. except maybe Tigers swing under Sean Foley—- I still grimace at that.
  24. Regardless of any X factor or questions about charisma: Tiger’s swing was a lot more visually appealing.
