  1. 100% a putting contest. Europe putts like they're at a team competition, with freedom, and the U.S. putts like they're at a PGAT event trying to save par. 🤣 *Take Poulter, for instance. At a Ryder Cup, the guy makes everything he looks at, but put him in a real competition, and then he turns into a club pro. (No offense to club pros). IMO
  2. It's also a little bit more complicated than that. DP world is a Brand, and it's a title sponsor of the European tour. Not sure if it's a 10-year deal. DP World is also a major sponsor for the Ryder Cup between Europe and the U.S. So, all that comes into play along with the 40% stake.
  3. You have to remember that this is the same crowd that lives and dies on every word an anonymous golf announcer says during a golf tournament. 🙂
  4. That's Scottie Scheffler in a nutshell. The minute he starts doing something different, his career is over. 🤣 99% of all golfers would love to have that consistency for just a week. The other 1% that thinks it's boring is right here on WRX. 🤣 (I kid)
  5. WRXers hate everything and everybody. 🤣 Especially announcers and TV ads.
  6. Where are the details of this financial partnership list?
  7. Nah, it's been proven that that's not true. The biggest ratings have come from drama and competitiveness, coming down the back nine on Sunday pulls the biggest audiences regardless of who it is. *Jon Rahm received 69K viewers while leading in his own championship bid.
  8. There you go, right there. Golf Today is my favorite television show. Different strokes for different folks. *PS/ I'd never stare at a five-inch screen for five hours under any circumstance. ~I draw the line at 55 inches.
  9. I have long faced the fact that I know nothing about LIV, and when I ask, I'm considered a detractor of the league.
  10. I've since learned that they watch for the personality of the content creator.
  11. You totally get it! Most watch sports to see people do amazing things that they can't do themselves. IMO That's entertaining (to me), and if they do it with a flair that's extra.
  12. Hogan didn't make that friendly little exhibition match with Europe any bigger than that. It's a putting match. That's just my view of the proceedings; I know that the hype is out of this world because the funds keep the DPWT relevant.
  13. Do you usually act this way with people who don't share your view? I understand why you feel the way you do; I just don't agree with it. Different strokes for different folks. You happen to find a guy playing like a Plus 10 boring, and I find golf excellence by a Professional must-see TV. No worries.
  14. Ah, yes..... Big Three Golf. What a promotion.
  15. Are you saying that Scheffler and Schaufele should hug more?🤣
  16. "This. Is. Not. Hard." LOL! Not hard for you, but I find your list totally ridiculous. I can safely say that I've never had a sports argument regarding any athlete being boring or exciting based on antics on the course. (except for WRX)😂 But if an athlete's antics and demeanor help your excitement level..... Have at it!
  17. And that's why I find people looking for personality in a Professional golfer on the PGAT head scratching.
  18. If golfers wanted to watch personalities, LIV would be doing much better. IMO Playing through was to appease the advertisers and the demand for more golf, even though it could be re-tweaked a little.🤣
  19. And that's why the OWGR is based on a rolling two-year period.
  20. Maybe you're right. I just don't remember Jack or Arnie being anything but reserved and classy, yet they carried the sport for years. As far as Scheffler is concerned, if anyone doesn't find a touring pro playing at a +10, then that's on them. 😀
  21. What other sport do you watch based on the athlete's personality? Honest question. I'm genuinely trying to understand/
  22. I still contend that most, watch competitive sports for sports excellence/. No one I know watches any sport based on how reserved the Athletes are. Basketball, football, Nascar, Soccer, Cricket, Hockey, Tennis.... None of these sports is watched based on the participants' personalities. Golf is in a league of its own. * That's what Netflix is for. 😀 ~PS/ Maybe one day I'll understand. LOL!
  23. 100% agree. Plus, playing the exact same guys every tournament has to be comforting. Having teammates has to be reassuring as well. IMo
  24. Wow! People ask me why I add the word *satire to my posts. You summed it up. Nit-picking and nano-dissection on a golf board. 🤣
