  1. Im a firm believer that the T game, wedge game, and flatstick are the 3 most important. After that IMHO it becomes player dependent. For me, Im strong off the T. Had to work hard at it for years but I have settled into either a straight ball or a cut shot that I can rely on. Putting I am fairly consistent. I practice 25ft, 12ft, 5ft all the time at home so on the course I have the muscle memory for lagging. Wedges are the most important for me by far. 2025 has seen my wedge game be hot and cold as I have new wedges for the first time in ages. I had 3 sets of identical SM5 loft, grind, bounce, lie, shaft. I finally used them all up heading into this season. I started searching for new wedges late summer of 2024 in preparation. Still working thru it. If I am on with them Im a mid 70s shooter. If I struggle that balloons into the low 80s. Ive bounced between all summer. I hope to really work on getting to know them (wedges) better so I am more confident with them. But for me - wedge game is the most important. Good topic and discussion.
  2. I really hope it shows up here in the next day or 2. Playing a nice course Sunday - would love to give it the maiden voyage there.
  3. I am inpatiently waiting for my wedge works 54 (53) d grind with smooth grind option. My first custom. I'd love a v grind. They said order M and request V. Tempting
  4. I have a sm5 58 k and sm10 58 d. Next to one another, the 10 looks bigger.
  5. Hit inside at PGA SS in Plano. Super easy to hit. Nice club
  6. Think I'll give this one a swing at some point. Really like the way it looks and sets up at address. I'm finicky like that.
  7. Still rocking my AI Smoke Max 9* set at 8* and loving it. I did drop down a flex in my Ventus 2024 Blue from X to S and couldnt be happier. Love hitting those mid-high bombs that start right and come back (lefty) around the 250yd mark. 😉 (Im not even kidding)
  8. I'd like to know more about this one. I've not swung one. Passes the looks test for me. For those who have it or swung one lemme know what you think. 3w application. T and fwy lie.
  9. I play PX 5.5 and love them - no boardy feel here. You cannot measure feel. PXi did not feel good to me compared and neither did IO. Everyone's mileage varies. I start with weight, somewhere around the 115g mark for me. Modus 115 (118g) is good for me. PX LZ 6.0 (120g) as to me it feels softer (probably is in scientific data terms) even though it weighs a bit more than OG PX 5.5 (115g).
  10. Most definitely will be grabbing a few doz before the new iteration comes out.
  11. After deliberating and talking with the fitter again and thinking more about it - we decided to go D grind with smooth grind lines via wedgeworks. Also ran thru the situation with wedge works. Gives me the best of both worlds from 3/4 85yd sq face down to greenside sand and rough where I might open the face. I love to use my 54 around the greens so this will have heel grind for opening face. The smooth grind will allow it to play like F on those 85yd approaches. My sm5 I had the F in 54/14 and other than firm turf it was fine for me, although manipulating the face around the green was also tricky. Hope I end up being happy with it. S200 shaft.
  12. All of what you say is true. Knowing my sm5 were running low (I did have multiple sets and was on my last) I started the new wedge process this time last year. Really took my time, hitting everything I could. Guess in the back of my mind I was always thinking Vokey would be where I landed - just so familiar in feel, performance, and reliability.
  13. Most likely so yes. S200 feels way different than modus 115w. I like both but Im missing consistency - and for the last decade I had same shafts in all of my wedges.
  14. Been struggling with my Opus 54s all summer. What started out as a promising endeavor late fall 2024 and early 2025 has gone sour to the point I dont want to pull it to hit a shot. Historically, the 54 has been my 'goto' for 85yds for a comfy 3/4 into greens. Used it all around the green, etc (love the hot low shot with high spin variety). Im not sure what or where it went sideways but here we are. Yesterday, forced myself to use it and I bladed 2 out 3 over the green into water. Triple BOTH times as I was so flustered to try and salvage a bogey or even double. Even with those ugly holes I managed a 81, which is not ok with me. And I can point right back to the 54. (Third shot was chunky as I overcompensated for the blades) Some additional things: Ive played Vokey forever, so Opus is new to me. Other wedges are 58d and 62t SM10 Other wedges have s200 in them, 54 has Modus 115w Typing that out there are some obvious things that could be messing me up. Different shaft, etc...and I acknowledge them all. I just got back from Miles of Golf where I hit the 54/14f and 54/12d off mat and grass with a fitter watching me. (Fitters tell me with wedges they listen first then proceed to look at divot, strike, shot stats). I hit both well TBH. Grass was wet due to overnight and AM rain. I prefer the d off the grass. Fitter stated he felt F was tad bit better sound (crisp) v tiny bit clicky in d. Divot was deeper in d, and f was smaller bruising of grass and thinner. I dont know where Im going with this lol - more just venting about the struggles with the 54s Opus. Im a firm believer that the T, wedge, and putting game are the 3 most important areas in the game (other than mental) and if you lose confidence in an area it can bleed and impact your game. I have 0 issues with the 58d or 62t in my hands. What say you?
