  1. Hal Sutton's place in Houston was in a strip center. Not sure if it still is or not. Very nice place with multiple hitting bays with LMs. Big putting green. Better than sweating it out at 2:00 PM in the middle of August at the range.
  2. I expect them to violently agree.
  3. I would say they built a good course if they get the drainage right.
  4. The last thing I want to watch on YouTube would be architecture snobs. It's grass, sand, water, and trees. Hit the fairway, hit the green, two putt, and make par. Everything else is superfluous.
  5. If I traveled to play golf, something like that might be interesting.
  6. Apparently. It explains why I only watch instructional and maybe equipment related golf content.
  7. I am still amazed that folks watch non-instructional or non-equipment golf content on YouTube.
  8. Agree that the new movement patterns can provide more efficiency.
  9. Another challenge I see with slow motion work is getting too acclimated to swinging slowly. If it becomes too comfortable, then speeding back up becomes a challenge. Easy to feel like the slower swings are your fast swings.
  10. Yes. While not having a degree in controls I did a little bit of control systems design, integration, and test at work.
  11. I still think the goats will disagree...
  12. I'm guessing they used the only "i" they had in Scottish. LOL
  13. Mmmm, I am not a fan of open loop anything although I can see how you could characterize it that way. I tend to think of the slow motion swing as a low bandwidth closed loop motion and full speed as high bandwidth closed loop motion. That also points to one flaw in this approach which is certain dynamics of the system don't become apparent until you turn the gain up. Still might be beneficial to do low gain movements though.
  14. Click on the OP's name and you go to their profile. Info is there.
  15. At 79° they should be very good. You are fairly close to 90° where shaft through the COM would by default be torque free.
  16. The closest to a superstition I have is I believe in Murphy's Law. Most of the corollaries as well. Complaining about old school instruction that we truly know is bad because of measured data, is valid. Complaining about validated swing instruction based on what pros actually have been measured to do starts getting a little squishy.
  17. A dynamic test is best. Swinging the putter back and forth while at the lie angle observing no rotation about the shaft. Basically, you need something like a L.A.B. Revealer or instrument the head with 3-axis accelerometers and record acceleration while swinging putter. It's fairly non-trivial.
  18. I have degrees in math and physics as you know. I don't have superstitions.
  19. Just having the shaft go through the COM doesn't make a putter torque balanced about the lie angle axis despite what alot of folks believe. It will be zero torque about the vertical axis, but not the lie angle axis. However, it won't have a significant amount of residual torque about the lie angle and will likely still produce good results.
  20. We'll have to agree to disagree on the merits of torque balanced putters and L.A.B.
