  1. Already been around forever and it's called a MesaBoogie 8x10 😂 Those things weigh approximately the same as a Rolls Royce Phantom.
  2. LOL Whatever fragile lil dude put that together picked the wrong gal 😂🤡
  3. The only thing I've ever done in Ohio is get stuck in traffic behind some massive accident for seriously like 6 hours (at least!) I was already starving when we ran into that so when we finally got through ... stopped at a truck stop that had a Wendy's and you ain't never seen a Dave's Double disappear so quick 😂
  4. What's funny here is Leah likes to CLAIM she's from Southern California ... but I know she was actually born in Cleveland and her family moved to San Diego when she was like 4 or 5 😂
  5. Watched the first season but none since! The kit on that track sounds effin awesome.
  6. Think that was originally a tune the Colonel (RIP) wrote for Trailer Park Cassanovas. We usually closed with that or ... Good times.
  7. Facts. I got pretty lucky on that front. I'd only been playing a couple years and knew even less than I do now. Starting jamming with a dude who was a couple years older and was starting to get into audio engineering and such - so I became the drum recording guinea pig. We'd hang out for hours and hours, drinking beer and laying down drum parts - all to a click, of course. Little did I know at the time, I was developing a pretty solid internal meter. Over the years when I've sat in with musicians far superior to me; a comment I've always gotten is "Man, your time is rock solid." Which I'm perfectly happy to hear. Been a long time since I've been in the studio - last time was the TCK record about 15 years ago. Laid down 8 tracks in two days - only one I had to do more than once was one that simply did not work playing to a click. The tune in question - appropriately titled "Drunk" - the guitar player wrote it to make you feel, well ... drunk. So the way we played it live, I'm pushing and pulling time; "wobbly" as I'd call it. Impossible to get the right feel staying dead on meter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. Speaking of OR; Hood River is one of my favorite places I've ever been. Damn, what a lovely little town.
  9. The funny thing about my life in music is ... I've just never cared that much. I enjoy playing shows immensely - it's the ONLY reason I even bother - but I've never cared enough to put in the work to reach any like ... elite level. I remember the day after F&D announcing we were shutting it down; my FB/IG inboxes blew up with dudes - from some pretty good bands - asking if I wanted to come jam with them. I was like "Why dude? I ain't all that good." 😂
  10. Competent player, sure. The drum part is ... let's say around that third stage (on a scale of 1-10) when you've figured out your left hand can do more besides 2 & 4. And then you absolutely have to keep it going endlessly 😂 Been there! THIS is elite for the age ... I was around 18 or so when I first saw that and was all "Welp, guess I'll stick with the whole computer thing." 😂
  11. And Slash was around 20 when they laid down Appetite ... which is, as far as I'm concerned, the single greatest hard rock record ever. And if you listen to the isolated tracks ... his parts are a sloppy, godawful mess from a technical standpoint 😂 Which doesn't change the fact that it's the greatest hard rock record ever. Which lends to ... ... to the point of being irrelevant. "Talent" and "skill" mean eff-all when it comes to making a name for one's self in the music biz. And it never has. Dave's a good dude.
  12. I'm a big fan of Saddleback Leather Co. I've had my duffel travel bag from them for going on ... 15 years now? Things been around the world on every trip I've been on over those years including 4 or 5 tours and looks better and better every year.
  13. They got bought by the LVMH group that famously sells complete garbage products for exorbitant prices. Doesn't seem to bode well for the gear but rock on for cashing out. I would too.
  14. I mean, there's a technique to how you pull notes out of it and you have to be able to keep time with some amount of limb independence ... but it's a lot easier than a 2:3:4 triad on a kit.
  15. And you can always see it in the followthrough - usually accompanied by falling off balance towards the target. Of course, it *IS* doable ... look at this old guy posted all straight up ... SMDH. 😂
  16. Me and Leah's wedding cake was Jameson shots at Dino's 😂
  17. That 6% woulda been nice - was oddly humid out there today!
  18. I'm still chuckling at "fine-*** English hillbilly" re: Charley Hull 😂
