  1. Haha the irony isn't lost on me. I generally keep work separate from, ya know, my actual life but back when TCK played our last show; I was working at one of the "big three" Hollywood ad agencies and invited my colleagues to it. It was at the fabulous El Cid in Hollywood and was literally a capacity crowd; perhaps due to Jello Biafra promoting it and performing a few DK tunes with us. The following Monday, there was a lot of "Dude, knew you were in a band but ... for real?" Alice (well, Vince to people who know him) is a sweetheart. A lovely pal of mine for many years is on his management team ... I've been TRYING to get her to set me up for a round with him for years.
  2. Welp, reckon we know how this one's gonna go tomorrow.
  3. Strongly recommended! Said it plenty of times; the Cayman is a better performance ride than a 911. Fun fact - all Porsches have the ignition to the left of the steering wheel. Since I've not owned anything else since like 2009 or so, it always throws me off when I drive anything else.
  4. And if we're on about cars, took the Cayman out for a "spritited" drive. Living on the absolute edge of town; just doing a quick burn through the desert up 95 makes all the feels. Better with some Kyuss.
  5. All due respect LP but man ... them wheels ain't helping. Lexus has always been trash with the single exception of the LFA. Also ugly as all hell but a tremendous performance ride. I can't imagine why anyone would spend actual money on a thing like that though.
  6. Hahah just clownin, dawg! My first "nice" car was a 5 up E46 328i. God, I loved that car.
  7. Emo Philips gif getting a new page is, quite frankly, spectacular.
  8. Paddle shifters are the tools of the charlatan.
  9. Eh, everything BBQ out west is tragically awful. Been tryna find it for 20+ years and nothin. Though not as awful as anything from Texas; where overcooked beef with spicy ketchup is considered "BBQ" or "good." "You've just never had good brisket." "Yeah, I know."
  10. Almost like "influencer" culture is selling an appeal to get people to watch and not the truth 😂 Curse my ethics, I should have stayed in marketing. People are such incredibly easy marks.
  11. Hey chi - see any of TOOL's performance at the Sabbath gig? Dan's still such a effin monster player. Band I was in back in the later 90s - pre Vegas! - was very much a shameless ripoff (we basically mashed up TOOL, Kyuss and Soundgarden) and man, it was fun to decompose riffs into complete insanity. Only real record I have of them days is some old demo mp3s and this from the jamming compound ... All the wires on the right was the crazy composition of old 80s modules and triggers.
  12. It's why it works right? Like ... the whole "influencer" racket. This whole thread is full of comments that make it exceedingly obvious how WELL it works. And the creators ain't the ones making the money. I'm sure GH makes a few bucks and gets to do some cool stuff but - as you've said - it comes with an expiration date. The "talent" has a short shelf life. People also have a really warped idea of what an actual "endorsement deal" looks like.
  13. Two very good friends of mine (from since I was a kid - went to school with them from elementary to college ... hell, I get mentioned in their shows every so often) are among the biggest content creators; period - ~20M subscribers. I know about how much they make. Imma tell yall right now GH ain't making the numbers a lot of yall seem to think he does.
  14. Yeah, I felt pretty bad for the Mrs. during the NC trip. I played 4 out of the 6 days we were there and all the tee times were around 8AM. So waking up around 5AM and being absolutely worn out by like 9PM ... definitely not her kinda schedule. We did stay at mom's for the bulk of the trip so she could at least hang out with her. But still. We've now agreed that future golf-heavy trips would be done solo 😂
  15. I don't remember the first Open I watched - woulda been late 80s - but I DO remember thinking it looked like a completely different planet. Absolutely did not look like the same game we were playing in the woods of NC. Like "Ok, it's golf but it ain't like any golf I've ever seen." And of course, the European players weren't nearly as present over here as they are nowadays. Was like "Who ARE these dudes?" Then when The Legends in Myrtle Beach opened up - very much links inspired - ... me and dad played it and it totally got me. So we'd play it every summer when in MB. Masters week is rad but this is DEFINITELY my favorite.
  16. I met this fella during a scandalous weekend in Palm Springs! Falconing is freakin cool.
  17. Great question! Statistically, she's right around where she was last year. What seems to be going on is she keeps having ONE round that knocks her out of it. Like this past weekend ... ain't gonna win a major shooting 75 on Saturday. Was great seeing Jess back out there - sure hope she gets back to competing.
  18. Man, toughest for me I was back east last year was believing putts actually break. Took me forever to stop over-reading them out west then I go back to NC and miss everything low.
  19. I could totally beat Nelly Korda if she got run over in the parking lot before we teed off. People get run over in parking lots all the time!
