Retiring my Taylormade P790's and Not Losing Distance
Pnwpingi210 replied to CBearse's topic in WRX Club Techs
I don’t think the 3dp is prone to fliers. It’s very consistent across the face. I’d anticipate all of the cbs mentioned to be a club shorter (t150) to club and a half shorter (p770 or p7cb) on well struck balls. -
The putter is the one club in the bag I would be okay extending just about any length through extensions. the exception might be if I used a really thin rubber grip and it messed with the feeling of the shaft by presenting a seam

Check your local stores. I’ve seen them in stock in local golf shops (not course pro shops)

Retiring my Taylormade P790's and Not Losing Distance
Pnwpingi210 replied to CBearse's topic in WRX Club Techs
All of those clubs will fly shorter no matter what you do. cobra 3dp is your answer. Similar in size to the irons you’re looking at, but with the distance of those older gen 790s. They don’t spin much and are pretty hot, but launch high. If you liked the older p790 distance and were okay with that spin profile the cobra 3dp is will be similar, more forgiving, and a smaller package -
Yeah man, today’s 56 degrees degrees much stronger than the 56 degrees of yore. am I right?

Cobra 3DP Additions to the lineup.
Pnwpingi210 replied to Golfballwackerguy17's topic in Tour and Pre-Release Equipment
They produce similar launch, ballspeed and spin dynamics like the og 2017 or 19 p790s that everyone called rocket launchers. They fly a littler higher than those 790s so that helps them. the new 790 has corrected this and I suspect cobra will too. the cobras are more forgiving -
Yup. I no longer try to squeeze an extra 5 out of my pw. It’s my stock 140 club and I won’t hit it for anything more than unless it’s wind and elevation aided.
-
I like the look. I “feel” like I can hit more shots with it, primarily due to a better sole.
-
I order the pw, but only for resale value. I haven’t hit it. i play a vokey 46 bent to 47

I think doing what you suggesting (making lab more like taylormade) would be scenario number 2, and a bad idea. let lab be lab. Sure you can find efficiencies, but not at an impact to what makes lab be lab. I think the zt is great as a grab an go option. Labs things is custom fitting.
-
Yup. That being said safe bet is to buy one now 🙂
-
If the PE lets lab be lab and injects some investment into the places lab needs.. it will be good. if the pe starts to think they have a strategy for labs long term growth and has a heavy hand with that, while also taking an eye for cost cutting/efficiencys in labs brand/ops that it doesn’t take long for the consumer to notice and the brand to die. Ive spent time in an adjacent field and it could go either way. I’d say 60/40 or 70/30 they mess it up and lab falls off the radar in 5-8 years.

If creating space is bunk, goat humping must be legit. all this time we’ve been wrong. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and wisdom of these posts!

Standard grips? d2 swing weight at 37.25 7 iron?
-
Do you know if we will start to get a LAB branded Patagonia vest with each purchase now?
-
I mean total build weight is going to be very different depending on shafts. An 80 gram graphite is going to weigh 50 grams less than a 130x 100 build.
-
I’d say you can always have them bent a degree or two weak/strong to hit you numbers. You’re looking for way beyond the standard of fitting that exists today. That service is available if you are willing to pay for it. For most golfers, they don’t posses the consistency in strike to make the level of detail your requiring as a starting point for you set. Most can estimate based on a fitting for 7 iron and adjust once they get the set back to the original point, nobody can predict it for you. You have to hit them and then have them adjusted.

Sorry Rant on Entitled "Members"
Pnwpingi210 replied to Warrior42111's topic in Rules of Golf and Etiquette
Yeah. Unlimited golf anytime you want just means there aren’t any restrictions like week days only or weekends after. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to book a tee or respect tee sheet/booked rounds. If you think you can just walk out on the course whenever you feel like it and have precident over a booked tee time that’s just looney. the only exception is the ultra exclusive clubs with extremely low local members ship. Bob parson can probably do it as his course, Jordan can do it at the grove. But you 750 a month semi private fees don’t get you that 🙂 -
ordering through the peoples clubs, payment question
Pnwpingi210 replied to dubg's topic in Deal or No Deal?
This does seem really odd. Hard to imagine paying with gift cards is the only way they can track your order on the backend… that being said I’ve purchased from them in the past (no gift card nonsense) and the clubs where built well, turn around time was around what they quoted. -
Unless you have some major physical limitations or restrictions, it’s not your body that causing a crud swing, it’s your crappy coordination and movement patterns. Those (coordination and movement patterns) are learned.
-
Gotcha. I would think that would give you significant peak heights differentials between the t100 irons and t150 irons.
