  1. I do think he has a pretty remarkable scientific mind/approach about this stuff given his background in physics, but unless he can force driver down the throat of a golf course successfully, he will really never be a consistent worldbeater. He's still very good though
  2. Maybe, but Pinehurst was probably the best US Open course for him. I get that certain courses favor certain players and styles but as good as Bryson is I just don't know how versatile he can be. Also, I don't think this course is all that different from most of the others in the rota. He hasn't ever been all that great in this event
  3. His game, while brawny, can be clumsy in these conditions. When the time comes to hit a shot under 200 feet high, it's hard for him. He's a scientist, not an artist.
  4. Getting the vibe that Russell Henley will quietly find himself within a couple shots of the lead on the back 9 on Sunday
  5. I don't think so, I think he was really just in disaster avoidance mode
  6. Honestly I'd be a little surprised if anyone pushes it to 6
  7. I totally get showing Rory and JT to an extent but there has been a disturbing amount of Fleetwood coverage today on the main feed. But I'll shut up now
  8. Hatton canned a 20 footer for par, still crickets on the feed lol
  9. I wish they would go out of their way to show less shots from the featured group that is literally available on another channel unless something out of the ordinary has happened
  10. Hatton is cooking and IDK if I've seen him hit two shots on the main feed
  11. I actually totally agree. Sometimes when I am a little tired or even hung over I am a bit looser, which is good for me because my error is usually to be a bit too tense or try too hard. Looking forward to the putting thread. I've recently had to go back to really feeling like I don't care about what happens on a putt because I just try too hard like I said earlier and it makes everything more difficult. My mindset when I am putting well is something like "treat every putt like a 40 footer" in the sense that I don't ever care if I miss from that distance but I am just trying to make a good effort really
  12. Are we still watching these instructional videos with clickbait titles and thinking that THIS is the secret to the game that has been holding me back all these years? Lol
  13. My grind is pretty similar to yours although I find myself spending less and less time on the full swing. 95% of my rounds are differentiated by what I did from 100 yards and in and what putts dropped or didn't drop. It gets most frustrating for me when the scoring just isn't going my way especially from 5-15 ft on the greens and I start trying to force it.
  14. Kind of unreal you got to a +4.2 by just grinding and not just having fun out there. I have been getting a decimal place below scratch the last couple of summers and play miles better when I really don't care what I shoot, I am open to whatever happens, and I am just glad to be there. There are still days where I get upset or have lofty expectations and things don't go my way, but I can let go a lot better now, and typically those rounds are very good. Just controlling what I can control: my process, my attitude, how I react to a tough situation, how I bounce back from a mistake, playing to have fun rather than constantly trying to "optimize" every shot.
  15. Can someone drop the link to the Clinometer app people are suggesting? I think the correct one is $1.99 but wanted a sanity check before I actually give it a shot
