  1. I mean you can do some somewhat reasonable data analysis. Its an estimate.
  2. Pretty comical that nobody can give numbers. Have a feeling I know why, but hey you do you.
  3. Its not a 100% though, so Im asking for odds. Hence 10 round/sample example.
  4. Anecdotes again. We get it. The scratches you play with arent true scratches and you played with a lady once who was really good.
  5. So your saying in the questions i asked, you would take the pro 10/10 times in all scenarios? Or are we not answering with numbers for a reason.
  6. Give me numbers man. You cant call people delusional then be vague and dodge lol
  7. I guess i should be more specific. If they played an 18 hole match 10 times from 6400 yards, how many is each winning? And from 7000 yards? And how about 10 72 hole tournaments?
  8. Curious, What would you put odds of a +1.8 male against the approx #75 ish (nobody in particular) in a single 18 hole match. From various yardages.
  9. The s1 really screams old school mizzy. To my eyes, Looks like a bit larger blade, low cg, channel… really mp32 vibes. Wish it wasnt “HD” forged though, but I get why they do it.
  10. Eh, the s3 is bigger than the 243, people combo the the 243 and 245 all the time.
  11. I have not seen that argument and for those saying that, thats silly. Its also not quite as extreme as getting lucky for one round. 10-20% chance and as much as 30-40% in some circumstances isnt just pure luck.
  12. Dude, you are literally arguing against MATH….posting a single round where some scratches struggled one round isnt proof of anything. The scratches you have experienced must not be true scratches to be honest. Which is a completely different thing. Great point, thats why the handicap system is flawed. Ive tried to point out how far you hit it matters, and the course setup and length. The proof of this is they treat a womens course rating way differently than a mens rating… why? Because they base it on average distance hit by a man and women. So when you say scratch, that could mean ALOT of different things, and they dont all translate the same.
  13. Thats misleading, because a handicap is your 8 best scores over 20 rounds. So im assuming they mean 4 rounds were right at their handicap, 2 better, 2 worse. So using that, there is a 30% chance a scratch shoots at his handicap or better. An average round if-2 to -6 eh?? Thats so laughable, you know we have actual data right? The scoring average for every player combined in 2024 is 71.82. Id say thats their “average round”. Their handicaps are more likely in the +2 to +5 range. If I remember correctly, that link provided was for over 4 rounds? I think we are all in agreement that is really not feasible for a scratch. My argument is a single round on any given day. The odds are still heavily in favor of the pro, but the scratch has a fighting chance. The whole tournament vs casual round is overblown too. Like scratches never play money matches or tournaments.
  14. What are you basing your claim on? Scratches you know? What tees/rating are they playing? A scratch shoots the COURSE RATING 40% of the time. Thats is literally how they get their handicap. Thats a fact, no ands ifs or buts. Over a four round tournament, yes you are correct, their bad round or two will hurt them likely, and will finish near the bottom of the field, BUT, not all scratches are as volatile as you make it out to be.
  15. I understand you guys are taking up for the ladies but lets pump the brakes lol….We have already established some very data based conclusions. That a male scratch would shoot around the course rating 40% of the time. At these LPGA setups, thats around par. Many many lpga rounds above par. Kinda getting old hearing all the anecdotal experiences with a few rounds you played with a handful of scratches or a really good female once. That isnt evidence of anything.
  16. Can i wishifully hope one of the new s models will be a mp32 relaunch….plllllease.
  17. Just watched the highlights at the evian… sorry…but it didnt look great for the ladies. 455 yard par 5 with whopping 147 ball speed off driver from leaders. The course setup looked -eh, not tough, no thick rough, easier pins, par 3s were pitching wedges and 9 irons. Looking at score card for that course, no way that was playing over 6400 yards or at at rating of max 71.
  18. A toe strike can start a ball right as well even if path is slightly left. Whats the ball do once it starts right, does it curve either way?
  19. Ive had them. Worth the money. They arent as good or premium feeling but they get the job done. I dont think you quite get the same life out of them, but at 1/4 price, its well worth it if you are on a budget.
